Just a friendly reminder to turn your clocks ahead one hour tonight!

The mornings will be darker again for a while, but the evenings will be lighter and that's a good thing. I'm starting to get antsy about getting outside in the yard, even though it's only mid-March. The weather has been so nice and our weather-weenies are already saying a warmer-than-normal rest of March and April, so that's good. I need to get my butt outside, walk through the yard and pick up the branches that have fallen. Walnuts have to be raked up, what the squirrels didn't take. Rick is already saying that grass-mowing is going to have to start soon because the lawn is already looking a bit shaggy. On my walks in town, I've seen lawn mowers outside and people doing mower maintenance. And spring is right around the corner!

I found myself looking for the nursery ads in our newspaper last night.

Here's to living in Arizona, where we just jump time zones. Thanks for the reminder, though. Now I have to figure out which time zone I'm in.

I saw the first daffodil bloom this morning, that is always my first sure sign of spring.  There is a small patch of daffodils by the building next to mine.  Only one had bloomed but the rest are close.  Tomorrow they will probably all have bloomed.

Even though it means losing a hours sleep, and darker mornings for a while, it's worth it because I love the longer evenings.  Spring's on its way!

The cats will be happy.  They have already changed their clocks and have been trying to wake me up earlier than usual.

I HAAATE DST. Like, why? I understand why we used to, but why do we do it still? I work with folks in AZ a lot and it makes it so we have to re-arrange all our meetings twice a year. We get the same number hours of daylight as we do before DST. It's not like the sun is out for longer, lol.

Ok, rant over. I'm so glad I don't have work at 4:30am on Sundays anymore. I really, REALLY hated DST then.

I used to work nights and weekends so I was working when the time changed.  In the fall we got an hour of overtime, in the spring we had to either take 1 hour of unpaid time, take one hour of our vacation time or stay an extra hour.

THAT's why the cats wanted their dinner an hour early tonight--they've already changed their clocks.

I am still trying to get used to this time change. I wake up and since it is still dark, I go back to sleep. I need to just get up when I wake up. :lol3:

I've been hitting snooze until it won't let me anymore all week long. I'm off tomorrow, hopefully I can somehow get my internal clock reset again before Monday.

I have been really tired this week...along with real crazy dreams or just not sleeping well...

I am blaming it on the time change...

This morning I woke up really late!  Artie did try to wake me up~~~ I was half awake; So I just coaxed him over and cuddled with him for a long time, finally falling off to sleep. When the time came for me move a bit, I decided to get up. When I did look at the clock, it was so late!!

There goes my plan of getting and out of the house early this morning!! sigh
