Hi, it's Saturday again.

Are you superstitious? What superstitions do you believe in? Tell me about the things you have to do or avoid doing in order to bring yourself good luck.

I'm not really that superstitious, but if ever I see a lone magpie I have to salute it. My grandma taught me that one, something about one magpie bringing you sorrow but if you salute the magpie you'll be OK. Luckily there aren't many magpies around here, I think I'd feel pretty silly if anyone saw me doing that.

I don't think I'm superstitious.. I can't think of anything.  But I have a feeling I'm going to start saluting Magpies!

Though I like to think I'm not superstitious, I find myself doing silly things like touching wood.

I am not that superstitious.  The only one I tend to believe in is that bad things come in threes.  I don't know if it's true or since we are looking for it we see it.

I don't think I am very superstitious, but I do find myself knocking on wood at times.

I'm not superstitious at all. I do believe in karma. I believe if I don't do the right thing something bad will happen to me.

I try to think of myself as not being superstitious, but.....I really dislike Fridays the 13th! It seems I have a very bad day when I have something planned.

.I also do not care for a black cat
crossing my path, although, since I adopted my guy
, I am not sure if that is true to me anymore.

I think that black cats are very good luck and I'd let any of them cross my path any day. Hopefully, they would stop long enough that I could pet them a little

I'm not a superstitious person. I don't believe in "curses" or luck. I think that everything happens for a reason.

I'd have a hard time with this one since a black cat crosses my path multiple times a day!

I can't think of any superstitions I have.

- Knocking on wood
- Bad things come in threes (especially deaths, and they are usually similar kinds of deaths - 3 animals, 3 actors, 3 musicians, etc); when so many people I personally knew were losing their kitties last year, I was freaking out - I never expected it to be Lucky though, as bad as that may sound.
- Karma
- Black cats are GOOD luck!

As Michael Scott said, "I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious."  Oh, all right, compared to some of you, I'm megastitious.  I haven no problem with Friday the 13th, not being a Knight Templar, but I do have a host of other very odd things that I have issue with.  Blame it on being Wiccish.  Not Wiccan, but Wiccish.  Very similar to Wicca, but not quite the same.

Let's see...All of these came from my Gran.  Leaving the cabinet doors in the kitchen opened will cause the neighbors to gossip about you.  Never pay for a knife (table and kitchen knives not included), butter a cat's paws and it will not stray, always store a broom with the bristles up so the virtue won't run out of it, never sweep towards the frongg door (you'll sweep the luck out of the house), always stir food deosil (clockwise), always set half an apple outside the door on Oct 31 to feed lost spirits.  Those are a few.  I'm sure I could think of several more...OH...a candle guttering when there is no draft means a spirit in the house. don't bring an old broom into a new house (you bring the ill fortune of the old house with you, and if you MUST, then pass it in through the window).

...with the cats...
i wouldn't say i'm superstitious. i do believe in karma, or 'the universe righting itself'. whether that's true or not, it makes me feel better to believe in karma. other than that, i believe that i make my own luck...good or bad.

Fearing that bad things come in threes isn't really a superstition, but an observation. I've seen it happen so often in my life that I become very apprehensive after the second bad thing. It's like waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I don't consider myself superstitious, but I do find myself looking for something made of real wood to "knock on" sometimes.

I don't know, sometimes I wonder....... I ran to answer the phone once, went under the 8 foot stepladder and smacked my forehead on the crossbar, knocking myself to the ground, so I believe in that one! It seems like a LOT of things go wrong on Friday the 13th, so I believe in that one too! I've always had GOOD luck when my path was crossed by a black cat! And of course I believe it's good luck to eat a piece of birthday cake to bring luck for the next year, anything for cake! I, too, believe in bad things and deaths happening in threes, we have had three deaths grouped together in the last 4 years, it's getting scary. I love reading all the 'new' ones above, you never know, it doesn't hurt to be careful!

I've never heard of saluting magpies.   I knock on wood.  I also try to not step on cracks!  My parents weren't superstitious--I must have learned that one at school.

I've noticed that things happen in threes, but don't you think good things come in threes too?

Reminds me of a song.

I was going to say not at all but then I remembered knocking on wood, throwing spilt salt over my left shoulder, bad things come in three and a Yiddish one is spit (not really too too too ).three times to ward off the evil eye
Eg somebody days oh. My what a beautiful baby, straight away spit three times. You're looking well, spit three times. Get it. The older I get the more I do it. You should all be healthy, wealthy and happy, too too too.
