My cat (3 1/2, female, spayed) has been smacking her lips for about a month, but very rarely. This happens once or twice a day, and it is only ONE smack - there is no head shaking or mouth licking. It is only when she just wakes up from a nap. She has no other symptoms, there has been no change in diet and her teeth are in good condition. (I only notice the smacking sound because she naps and sleeps on my pillow with me!)
She had to have a leg surgery in 2014 and as a result, has the worst case of vet anxiety I've ever seen (and I've fostered 50+ cats), so it is her anxiety, not money issues, that is the reason we haven't been to a vet yet.
Should I be worried about this?
