What treats do you feed your cat?

I was just wondering what treats you guys use for your cat. I've only stuck with the purebites shrimp and chicken, I've been very hesitant to try things like temptations because I heard cats can get addicted to them. I want to expand his treat selections but when I'm at the aisle reading all the ingredients, they all seem high in carbs, salt, or ingredients cats don't need like rice or potatoes or berries. Since treats are only  in small quantities, maybe it doesn't matter if I get some with not the healthiest ingredients? Has anyone tried the jerky treats? They seem like it would be hard for cats to eat though.

Thanks!

I'm very thankful that Temptations exist! When Lucky was in end-stage renal failure, there were a couple of days that's all he would eat. I gave them to him just to see if he would - I didn't think he'd actually eat them. But he gobbled them up!

With that said, not opposed to giving Temptations. I have a myriad of treats though. I have some Irresistables (the soft ones). I have some dental treats that I got from Drs Foster and Smith that they seem to like. I have various flavors of Temptations. And I have a few varieties of Pill Pockets and wraps also for Sara, since she has been getting picky over her chicken Pill Pockets. I have a few others too that I can't remember the names of now.

I think my "mainstay" if you will is the Irresistables. They all get that at night when Sara gets her meds. I give them all one dental treat per day. More for the "treat" aspect than the "dental" aspect. The others I give out when I feel like it.

I'm obviously not picky with the ingredients, lol.

I have a huge stash of treats that i use to entice my picky older cat to eat. I only buy freeze dried because they only have one ingredient, meat. I use these on rotation

Bonito flakes

Nature's variety raw boost toppers

Halo

Whole Life

Freeze dried Primal turkey

Orijen (both the cat and dog treats)

Weruva fish treats

Stewart freeze dried chicken liver cat/dog treats

Thrill freeze dried treats

I use Purebites too, and my kitty loves them.

I picked up Good Lovin' freeze-dried chicken heart treats yesterday from Petco. I only give him chicken heart a few times a week in small quantities since too much heart can be unhealthy.

I'd suggest getting your cat freeze-dried pieces of organ/meat. Lots of brands tend to sell them. I wouldn't feed my cat anything like Temptations unless it's the only thing he'd eat.

I give Olive boiled chicken skin occasionally too. Or I add pure chicken broth to his meals to change it up a little.

The only treats I ever fed mine were Temptations. Then I stopped when I got concerned about gluten. Now they won't eat any other kind I've tried, like purebites, for one.

I'm not sure about temptations, but I'm wary of Greenies treats because I've heard they can irritate some animals' digestive systems.

My cat wasn't interested in the first few freeze dried treats I tried, but she really likes the Orijen freeze dried treats, especially the Alberta boar ones. I also found Vital Essentials freeze dried minnows the other day, and she absolutely adores those.

I also like the idea of getting a really high quality kibble and using those as treats, because my cat really loved her dry food before I got her.

I have a treatless household because one of my cats can only eat raw or else diarrhea. Which is very expensive by itself without buying raw treats. :/ But i do give them some pure canned pumpkin since they seem to like the taste, raw egg yolks, a little bit of sweet potato, bits from raw meats that i am cooking with, or bits of cooked fish/crab that i happen to be eating. So their treats are just stuff that i happen to be eating that i feel are safe to share with kitties. Most days they dont get any though.

I mostly use Pure Bites chicken.   Amazon has a good deal on a big bag which I order monthly.    I feed all wet and I wanted to give them another treat so this month I decided to buy a bag of Orijen to give as a treat.    They only get a few pieces maybe every other day so the bag should last me many months.   I don't like to feed dry but I figure a small handful as a snack should be okay.

I have bought several different kinds but the only ones my baby likes is Temptations Dairy. Because she likes them so good I have taught her to sit. I also give her cooked chicken or goats milk. From time to time I will buy a can of sardines packed in water. Oh and the chicken and turkey baby food.

I don't think temptations are very good for cats, the ingredients are not ideal, especially if you feed grain free foods.

I usually feed the original Friskies party mix chicken flavor but I couldn't find it at Albertsons suppermarket so I bought Temptations treats in the catnip flavor. The treats are a hit! They are also eating Greenies chicken flavor right now.

I just got some freeze dried rabbit and whole ground mice treats for my cat yesterday. He won't eat the mice but ate a few of the rabbit. Otherwise, I usually just feed Purebites, Temptations (occasionally), and Party Mix.

There are lots of other brands of freeze dried and other healthy treats
I currently have Bravo treats and Salmon Paws Kitty Bits.

Here are some others:

Vital Essentials

Real Food Toppers

Stella and Chewy's Carnviore Kisses (it listed as for dogs but it's just 100% freeze dried meat)

Halo Liv A Littles

Whole Life

Wild Side Salmon

OnlyNaturalPet.com's All Meat Bites

Weruva treats

Evangers

The Honest Kitchen

Orijen

Northwest Naturals

Nature's Variety Instinct

Freeeze dried raw food can also be fed as treats.

The chain pet stores seem to have a limited selection of healthy treats. Sometimes you have to look in the dog treat aisle. Independent pet stores definitley have a good selection of healthy treats and food
You can also buy treats online from Amazon and Chewy.com and PetFoodDirect.com and other sites.

Skip the little container of bonito / tuna flakes at the pet store. Kitty Kaviar is one brand. For the same price, you can get a huge bag of the flakes at most Asian supermarkets. Bonito flakes are used often in Japanese cusine.

Plain raw or cooked meat is also great

I buy small bags of the Orijen cat food and feed it as treats.  They LOVE it and one $5 Orijen bag lasts longer than 5 bags of temptations.  Plus, temptations are loaded with horrible stuff.

The Friskies broth treats, and the slim jim type ( Sheba brand mostly, though I keep meaning to try making my own with my jerky press and food dehydrator) are her favorites, but she also likes cheese (especially cheese, though i severely limit it.)

I do feed them Temptations treats from time to time. It seems there is a negative opinion about those here, but those cats love them and they get them very infrequently. Another treat they get are the Nature's Variety freeze dried bites (I think on the bag they're called rawboost mixers). A bit healthier and my kittens like those too!

I got these treats called Anchovy Snaps for free. Ary seems to like them. I don't feed it to her often because I'm wary of fish, but when I do, she gobbles them down.

I also just bought some freeze dried chicken treats by Redbarn. Both of my cats like it a lot!

Rylee loves these new Sheba Meaty Tender Sticks, the ingredients seem pretty straight forward. They come individually packed and have diffrent flavors, the Chicken seems the best. I haven't seen anyone on here talk about them, like I said they are new and a nice alternative to crunchy treats. https://www.sheba.com/Products/Meaty-Treats-Chicken
