Last week's ice cream thread made me think of this. Do you eat ice cream year-round or is it more of a summer treat?

I don't eat a lot of ice cream, but overall I do eat more in the summer than winter.

I eat ice cream year-round, sure.....I could eat it everyday but I know that's not really that good for me!

Years ago my grandmother used to love to eat ice cream, and my mother would get on her about it because she would at times eat some not-so-good lunches, and I remember my mom telling me that she told her "you can't eat ice cream for lunch" to which me and my wife joked "why not?"

I don't eat a lot of ice cream, but sometimes an ice cream cone really hits the spot, esp in the summer time. If we eat ice cream during the winter, it's pretty much homemade (strawberry or peach) ice cream and we use the snow to pack around the ice cream freezer. Or if it's on sale at the grocery store, Rick may want to indulge a bit.

I do try to keep the 100-calorie ice cream bars on hand for when I get a bad craving, but that doesn't happen often.

First off... how did I miss an ice cream thread? I'm going to have to go back and see if I can find it.

And if my above sentence didn't make it obvious, I love ice cream and frozen yogurt.  If it's in the house, I have to eat it till it's gone.  Therefore to control my addiction, I only buy it when it's on sale.  And sales, luckily for my waistline, are mostly summer only.    So to answer the question, I could eat it every day, but mostly eat it only in the summer.

There's no reason to turn down ice cream...it's more refreshing when it's winter anyway.

Sure, I eat ice cream all year round. Nothing better on a crisp fall evening than some hot apple pie fresh out of the oven with  scoop of ice cream on it! And what about birthdays? You can't have birthday cake without ice cream - and birthdays happen all year round!

Oh absolutely. I'm lactose deficient by nature, so ice cream is a yummy way to get it!
   Love it.

I make a lot my self but use soya yogurt and berries, and sweetener rather than sugar so it is higher in protein and lower in fat and sugar than most.  It's quite hard but once defrosting it is as yummy as any other ice cream.  I make a kind of instant ice blending up frozen berries with the yogurt too.

Generally speaking yes, I eat is all year long. Now we are both in the "lose weight" mode, and you can't do that eating ice cream. But I keep thinking about the box of vanilla in the freezer.

A few people I know are surprised that I would eat ice cream in December or January, which makes me ask them, "Do you eat cold cereal in the winter? Or drink an ice cold soda in January?" All have said yes. So then I say, "Then what is so different about consuming ice cream during the winter months? it's something cold too." Makes them stop and think.

Of course! If only Dairy Queen was open year round!
Ours is only because it's a grill and chill. :) We have 2 of those that serve other things besides ice cream.

As for the question, yes I do. I love ice cream!

I love ice cream and had some this evening - cinnamon, my favorite and hard to find. I believe I eat more of it in the winter. It seems a little rich during the summer. When I had pneumonia a few years back, I lost my appetite and the doctor said not to worry about eating. So I lived for weeks on soup and ice cream. Not together, of course.
