You can offer both dry and canned foods, preferably more canned than dry. Fancy Feast has two kitten varieties. For more variety in the diet, rotate in some other brands of kitten foods. A little adult food is fine, either dry or canned.

Kittens need to eat a lot of food to support their growing bodies so most people just feed several small meals daily and as much as the kitten will eat.  A timed feeder works great for canned food meals. Some dry can be left out for snacking on if you don't feel comfortable leaving canned food out all day even in a feeder.
