Rest in piece BishBish

My 18 years old boy  cat suffered  aggressive malignant  Osteosarcoma which did Metastasis in his lung. He lasted 2 months and in couple of days he did stop eating food almost completely. He just ate  small amout and drank a lot of water. His suffering became very obvious.. Very tired.. crying slowly in pain when someone tried to stroke  him.. Even for slowly!.. His eyes were half open.. Didn't not like  our company anymore. The heart rate was very fast all the time. His tumor leg was very big and he was unable to use it anymore and his second leg started to swelling.  After swelling he was Unable to stand for long time.. Sometimes He fell to the ground..His tumor leg also started rupture his skin slowly.  He also suffered from  hyperthyroidism and when his loss of appetite started to decrease.. It was almost  impossible. feed him the hype pills. His drinking, peeing habit started to increase to sky high which caused  him no to sleep properly. He also lost weight at a fast pace. I could even feels his bones...  Metacam didint not work anymore. When these  symptoms started couple days of ago we tried to call vet today and he said that best option for our cat was enthusiasm and we did it today at two  and half o'clock... If we didint do it today..  My cat would  have  wait 6 today when holidays ends.. I really feel bad because it was so sudden and soon.. The goodbye was not long and he stressed alot in taxi.. He did very loud and weird sound which made me cry..... I didnt not expect enthusiasm this soon and I didn't not want him suffer 6 day more.. I just hope I did the right thing even though it was sudden. I kissed him 100 times before vet did enthusiasm him and he started to watch us.... My heart is broken.. Im depressed,, Im sad,, I feel very empty, I cannot sleep,, I cannot even eat..,, I miss him so much...... I have two cats and this cat was my oldest and kindest. 18 years living with me and bum suddenly he just disappears.. It feels unreal.. Thank u for everyone who supported me and my cat BishBish. Bishbish gave me the best memories that cat can do for its owner..

His body is now in vet refrigerated for 4 days.. We are gonna burry him when the holidays end.. Its going to be hard to seem him as frozen. I really thought that he could live 1-2 years with Osteosarcoma but i was pretty wrong..

I am so sorry about BishBish. Although I did not comment since I had no experience, I cried for what you and BishBish experienced. It was obvious you would have done ANYTHING for your dear boy. In the end, you gave him the greatest gift of all.

I hope with time, you can get some comfort from your happy memories of BishBish. He was obviously special and a dear loved boy.

I do, too. He was obviously a really well loved boy. I saw his picture in your other thread. He was so beautiful! You loved him so much! That was clear in your every post. He knew that, don't ever forget that. He knew you loved him and in the end, you made the greatest sacrifice of all. You ended his suffering. Somewhere, he is thankful for that and sending you his love. Dearest BishBish - you were one in a million, [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet BishBish. Cats are expert at hiding their pain, and unfortunately when you see the signs, there is little else we can do but let them cross peacefully. It hurts and it sucks but it is the most final act of love we can show our beloved furbabies.

Fly Free BishBish and land softly- you were so loved.

BishBish was a beautiful boy, I am so sorry for your loss. You did everything possible for him, at the end, you did the kindest act, you took his pain away. You loved him and be rest assured that he knew that. RIP BishBish.

Thank u ! He was so beautiful and he loves humans more than he likes cats. His  head butting unreal! He just love humans.. even random humans.  There one big thing that makes me happy.. Is that he lived very good and long life.. He was like a dog cat.. When he was old always begged us to let him outside.. If I didn't come outside he would refuse it too.. Good memories... he just wanted to be with us all the time even in outside..

You have lots of good memories. Just be kind to yourself right now. Lots of us save a bit of fur, A collar or a paw print. You might be able to ask your vet office to take care of that for you. He was a lucky cat to have someone so devoted to him and his well being.

I forgot that completely.. He dropped today morning his cat whiskers and I did take The cat body is now frozen.. Not sure how vet can take sample from that...

You can still clip some fur. You can ask the clinic. It's a pretty common request. Or you can do it yourself or perhaps you have a close friend who will do it for you. It doesn't have to be perfect. I witnessed my cats cremation. Was so scared to see her dead. But she was still my baby. It doesn't have to be perfect. It's a memento for you to remember him by. All of my cats stuff is put away but I know in the future it will not be so painful to look at. Lots of people take nose prints as they are supposed to each be unique. What ever you choose to do is fine. You honored your cat by knowing when and having the courage to be there as his comfort when you were heartbroken. And you honor him now by sharing your wonderful life with him.

I see thank u  for information! Does the body look horrible after freezing?  My grandmother always called him bishbish and its was very catchy name. So we stared call him with that name .. Not sure what it even means..

 When we were leaving home to Vet.. He  wanted go back in home.. I really feel bad how much he stressed in car.. Its just haunts me.. It makes me feel like I did hurt him.. I feels so guilty..

How would you feel right now if you had continued to let your beloved BishBish suffer. You know that you made the right decision at the right time. I don't know of anyone who goes through this that doesn't suffer from guilt. Every cell in our bodies screams at us to not do it. You gave your beautiful cat a wonderful life full of love. And as hard as it is to accept this too was an act of love. Most of us here have had that last car ride. Try not to focus on that one aspect and understand you did the kindest thing possible.

When you see BishBish the only thing you will feel is the love you had. I hugged my cold dead cat and all I felt was the love I had for her. Its part of caring for them to make sure their remains are honored and respected. It is also an important part of your grieving process. As bad as it feels it's the start of the healing. Be well and kind to yourself.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your beloved BishBish, I know how much a broken heart can hurt. I pray you can concentrate on the 18 years of love and devotion he gave you,and not on the end, it is as he would want for the one he loved the most. None of them would want us to be so sad when remembering them, we must fill our hearts with light and joy, for there is where they dwell now, forever a part of us. I know we must grieve, we have lost a very special part of our lives, and the feelings of loss and regret are a part of this process. But the 18 years you shared with this beautiful boy is something that can never be taken from you and you will have your precious memories to comfort you. You could never have allowed him to suffer more then he had, he let you know it was time and you took on his pain as your own and allowed him to rest.  Remember, that earthly body you will so lovingly bury is the vessel that housed the 'essence' of who he really was, that 'essence' is with you now, and always will be, a part of you for the rest of your life. You will surely be blessed for loving that sweet boy so much to hurt so bad. Thank you for sharing his life, for being there for him when he needed you the most, and thank you for letting us know of him and allowing us to mourn the loss of BishBish with you from this earth. Take care........RIP sweet BishBish, you will always be remembered and forever held in a loving heart!
