May be at a turning point soon...Mia came to greet me when I got home from work :) and walked over to her food bowl (didn't eat yet though).

Mia threw up again this morning :(
I think maybe I didn't wait long enough after giving her Famotidine and Cerenia to start feeding her. I got up early to treat her since I have to get up at this time for work during the week. This is so exhausting.

It's even more exhausting to have so much worry on your mind. I'll pray for you and little Mia, and for you to find the strength to get through this ordeal. I truly hope that Mia does well and recovers fully. My Burt has gone through several of these not eating and throwing up episodes in the last few years, and each time I watches him get bony and weak. He has finally started eating again and looks better, so don't give up, miracles happen!

Poor Mia! When are you giving her the famotidine? Switching it from morning to night for Sara made a WORLD of difference. She only had one pukey day since then. But she wasn't throwing up food at that point, just foam.

She gets Famotidine morning and night, and Cerenia just in the morning. Unfortunately she probably vomited some of them up this morning, but I'm hoping she had already absorbed most of them.

Mia vomited a second time today a couple hours after feeding her again. The vet is calling Zofran into a pharmacy since the Cerenia doesn't seem to be working.

Thanks guys. The vet actually changed her mind after talking to me and asking how Mia was acting and I said she was lethargic. The vet said she recommends we go to an ER vet since it's a weekend to get an IV with meds and a feeding tube. :(. She said now we are at the point where she's worried about hepatic lipidosis.

We are at an ER vet now but it's about an hour wait.

The ER vet wants to keep her overnight with an IV and do a blood test for hepatic lipidosis before we start with a feeding tube.

Thanks! Her blood tests were good, her liver looks fine so no hepatic lipidosis and no feeding tube! She has been on an IV but still won't eat as of this morning. I'm picking her up around 3 and I picked up the zofran. So I still need to call my vet today but I think I will start again tonight with zofran, Famotidine, and syringe feeding, and subq and appetite stimulant tomorrow. The ER vet thinks that being dehydrated may have made her so nauseous so I'm hoping the IV really helped.

Yay that her liver is doing well! Have you been giving her subqs? For some reason I thought you were but I might be thinking of someone else. I would think that would help with the hydration if so. Does the IV treatment include nutritional supplements of sorts?

Might want to ask your vet about giving her Clinicare. It's a lot easier to do with syringe feeding and is like kitty Ensure (it's a meal replacement type of thing). Looks like milk but smells horrible, which means cats like it as a rule. Only downside is that it's expensive, so hopefully will be more of an "in the interim" type of thing. And in some cases, cats will just drink it up themselves. Another plus is you can use that (instead of water) to thin down pureed cat food for syringe feeding, and that way you won't be losing calories in the process.
