Everything is looking good for Meeko in the perspective of intake and out take. He eats well, not too much and not too little, drinks very well ( drinks my bath every time I start it lol) stool is normal in consistency , and color. I offer wet cat food twice daily and dry cat food is always accessible ( because I have one that has always eaten dry cat food and she eats 24/7....

wonderful news, it sounds like the little guy found you before, he deteriorated too much. I worry about larger cats that have lost a lot of weight. I am so happy that Meeko found you, to love him and look after him. He really sounds like a special little man

Oh I know the feeling, most people thing a larger cat would be fine but they actually go down hill much faster than a smaller cat because the amount a larger cat needs just to survive. Smaller cats are usually more resilient to weight loss... He was pretty bad, I'm surprised he didn't need more aggressive therapy to help him, the pictures don't really do him justice on how bad he looked in person at all. The pictures don't show how sunken his eyes were or how brittle his nails still are. He is doing great tho... If we can't find him I just turn the water on in the bathroom and he comes running in lol

LOL he really sounds like a special guy. Are you going to keep him or try to rehome him?

At first my husband was dead set against another pet.. We already had two plus three kids.. But once my husband seen how loving Meeko is he said he couldn't go anywhere lol so Meeko is definetly here to stay.

This makes me very happy.  Please post more pictures as he progresses and becomes the cat he was always meant to be!

Thank God for you and your good heart. Thank you for saving Meeko. (Love the name!) I have a great respect for those who save rescues and I am so happy he is thriving with you.

The first pics are in order, he has begun to fill out. And is not hiding as much but still more of a loner and enjoys sleeping all day in my room ( gets under the covers at night to demand love )

He started playing tonight... Made me a tad nervous to have his big mouth around my hand in a play battle lol ( cat nip was involved too) he sometimes acts as though he has no idea how to play. At least until tonight when he really started to get going. He was trying to jump and stretched very very tall. He only grooms himself on my husbands side on the bed, on it and under it is covered in little tiffs of hair lol none on my side tho lol

I would never give him to those girls. or the " original owner" ... I have checked our local community to make sure he was stolen ( in that case I might have returned him if they had taken care of him) but no one seems to have lost a giant cat around us. Last night meeko waited for me to get in bed and burrowed his head into my armpit ( almost trying to get under me) in his attempt to cuddle lol. Today I plan on combing his tail and the little hair he has left on his legs. Im so glad he lets me groom him. But that just makes me all the more upset when I think about it because of he will let me then it was full neglect and not a case of crazy kitty not liking a brush

I am so happy to see him looking so much better!  Make sure we get a photo when he's all fattened up and furred over!  He's going to be a gorgeous boy!

I actually had a crazy kitty who hated brushing.  She did a pretty good job with her grooming, but twice a week I'd give her 1/2 cc of chamomile tea mixed with 1/2 cc of valerian tea, and she'd lie there and purr while I brushed her.  Just had to get her "likkered up" a little before taking liberties with her body

That's great lol liqueured up kitty lol... Cat nip has gotten him to play [emoji]128512[/emoji] but at first he didn't seem to know what to do with the toy. He has begun to groom himself ALOT. My poor husband has to take a dust buster to his side of the bed to get the littler hair tufts off of his side... My little bobcat mix kitten ( kit) isn't as afraid of meeko anymore so she doesn't freak out on him like she use to ( she would hiss if he even looked at her for the first week) she now will share a food bowl with him ( he is such a push over she bosses him around)
