Helloooooooo!

Does your cat wake you up in the morning? If so, how?

Morgana: She purrs and paws at my face. If that doesn't work, she will nip my nose with her mouth
it doesn't hurt, just startling. It doesn't help to put my head under the covers, she will just climb on top and continue pawing/smacking me.

If absolutely none of those techniques work, she will go after any exposed feet. She will pounce, grab and nip the toes.

Camelot: While Morgana is the physical one, Camelot is the vocal one. He will be walking around meowing loudly for his morning noms - kind of like "I am staaarrvvviiiiing, I haven't eaten in forever!  Like OMG I am dyyyyiiiiinggggg"

Paul wakes me up by "doing paws" (kneading) me in the stomach. If I am deeply asleep, the sensation gets worked into dreams, which is really weird!

My old RB boy Wesley used to very delicately scratch my head with one extended claw, digging in deeper and deeper until I covered my head with the pillow. At that point he would shove his sweet face under the pillow or walk on me. Either way, I ended up rising and shining. And grumbling!

Ours are pretty quiet, but sometimes Sparkle will come into our bedroom and stare at me until I get up and give her food. I can feel her laser eyes boring through my closed eyelids, lol.

Sophie wakes me every morning. She will sit on my chest or on my side depending on how I'm sleeping. Then she gives me an "Ack". That is followed by tapping me with her paw. She knows about the snooze button because she slaps my hand if she thinks I'm over using it

Henry just waits in the doorway and Lilith doesn't usually join in unless she's very hungry then she will whine a little. Sophie was designated as my personal alarm clock from the beginning.

Artie will give me a combination of a 'tap-tap' on the shoulder along with a MEooow!! in the ear!! I can ignore the ta-tap, but the MEOOOWWW in the ear is really a jump starter to the day!

He usually sneaks up on me when he does that!!

That's hysterical.  Sounds exactly like our Rico.  I'm surprised he hasn't figured how to dial the emergency police number with his paw so he can report us for cat abuse for not feeding him early enough in the mornings.

Usually DH gets up earlier than the cats.  They jump off the bed and go running after him when they hear him heading to the kitchen in the morning.  But if he doesn't get up, I can be sure that Zoe will be head-butting me to wake me up for breakfast.

Yeeeees! All my cats will do a little bit of the kneading or the meowing thing, but Meko is the worst; she chews on my fingers and licks my eyelids if I won't open my eyes.

Kismet (the 8 week old kitten) has just figured out how to climb the comforter to get up on my bed, so she's starting waking me up as well, usually by sucking on my lip. I wish my cats would stay away from my face, haha.

Nope!  Noodles will paw at the door if DH sleeps in too much; but if he sticks his head out the door she goes running off like "whoops sorry...didn't mean to wake the sleeping bear".
Our girls aren't allowed in our bedroom because of DH's allergies.  So they never got in the habit of trying to wake us up.  DH gets up before me; so they might follow him a bit, but they know I'm the kibble giver so they usually hang out outside the bedroom door waiting for me to get up.

Arya has recently figured out how to get under the blankets, no matter how tight I wrap myself into a blanket burrito. Once she's under the blankets, she starts playfully biting/scratching at me until I get up and give her some food. Then I go back to sleep and when she's done eating, she curls up right next to me and goes to sleep as well.

Leroy whines. Emma will happily sleep until I start getting out of bed. On rare occasions she'll grab my hair at the scalp and pull

On some mornings, Diamond will knead either my chest or somewhere on the bed.  He uses his claws on my chest.  A definite rouser!  If he is kneading the bed, he has found a piece of exposed blanket that he is drooling all over, and unless I get up and do something there will be a large wet spot on the bed!

my favorite way that snick and jaspurr wake me up is when they both snuggle with me in bed while i wake up.

now when my two feel i'm not waking up early enough, it's a different story. snick will loudly yowl in the kitchen, and jaspurr will lay next to or on me and as i pet him he'll nibble on my fingers and hands.

I know right?
I can see it right now "Hello, 911? ! I haven't have a meal or snack or treat for exactly 9 hours! I would like to report a case of meanieness that resulted in severe malnutrition! I am pretty sure I have lost weight, especially in my male-bosom area"

This morning I woke up to Artie lying on the pillows, next to me!

For some reason, I was very tired last night. I went to bed very early. I did toss and turn. Guess who slept the entire night cuddled up to me? Yup, my buddy was worried...my love..

It's not as bad as it used to be. When Whisper and Bootser were still alive, they would start screaming -- not meowing -- screaming for breakfast around 3:30. They were not starving. I swear. But it just got earlier and earlier. It bordered on ridiculous.

When they passed, BooBoo and Ms. Pepe took up the "OMG, we are starving!" mantra, but fortunately starting in around 4:30 or so. We usually start our day at 4:45, so they're not too bad. Except on weekends...I'd love to sleep in until around 6:00 or so, but that rarely happens.

The younger kids start becoming active around 4:30; they don't really meow, but that's when they start playing and carrying on. We can't shut the bedroom door because then Mollipop will simply start scratching at the door. To be left in or taken out of the bedroom, she doesn't care. It's a closed door and she won't allow a closed door. Or Molli and Muffin will start in with the hissing and snorting at each other. Or Muffin will "guard" the bedroom doorway, so Molli can't get in or can't get out and then Molli starts whining about that.

Rick still sets his phone for 4:45, even though we're always awake before it ever goes off. When he's away and I'm alone, I never set an alarm. I've got six furry alarms and they always work! And work well!

Rain or shine, weekday or weekend, normal day or holiday....we are up and the cats are usually fed by 5:00.

Cocoa is our alarm clock. She starts with the first small crack of dawn approaching which can be as early as about 5:20 am.  I nearly never need to actually wake to the alarm because she's so good at it.

She'll jump onto the end of the bed and make her way up between my BF and I.  Sometimes she'll settle in for pets and very loud purrs.  Eventually, she walks behind my head, settles down on the other side for more of the same. Occasionally she'll get up on the bureau and push the curtains aside. Or, find something on the floor to bat around if all else fails. That sure does wake me up.  She's pretty relentless but thankfully so darn cute that we don't care.

Casper is polite. He'll just park himself on the rug aside the bed until we get up.  Very rarely, he'll give a small "bark" as we call it (he meows weird) to let us know he's getting seriously hungry.

 Yep, that's Rico!!!

I think it's a good thing Rico and Camelot don't live in the same household--can you imagine the racket in the mornings?!
