Hi everybody, my first post here. I'm a big lover of black olives, it seems my cat Merlin is also.
Is there any danger in giving him one once in awhile. He did get one that i dropped by accident and there did'nt seem to be any problems. Pea's seem to be a favorite also.

I know peas are ok.. there are actually peas in Zoey's nutro food lol. Not sure about olives. I dont remember them being on the 'list of foods to avoid' for cats but maybe someone else knows for sure

I would avoid olives simply because garlic is used in the preservation of the olives- plus the high salt content. Although one olive won't hurt your cat, I wouldn't make it a habit of feeding him olives as a treat. Cats have an attraction for strange foodstuffs sometimes, and it is really up to us as responsible cat owners to keep them safely away from these foods.

My cat, Squirt, has a thing for black olives. I have given him a slice or 2 off a pizza. He goes nuts over them, like they are catnip. He rolls around on them and sniffs them. He never eats them, but he loves them. Something about the smell, I think. Weird, huh?
