I visited my local cat sanctuary which houses almost 450 rescued cats and took some photos! It's a wonderful (secret) place and all the cats look so happy.

This is Daisy. She's a special cat that was found after being hit by a vehicle. They believe she might have the cat version of down syndrome. She loves to be held like a child and will just melt in your arms.

Some volunteers came in to feed the cats some fish!

This gal was sitting on my lap for a while and begging for pets!

Some cat colonies are separated from the public because they're too feral. There's even a separate place for cats with leukemia.

Me too! It's so great with lots and lots of space and it's a no-kill shelter.

This post got me teary, this place looks so beautiful. I remember years ago my then young cat was hit by a car and his face swelled up exactly like the cat in the first photo, it was months before the swelling went down it was so heart breaking. He was never exactly the same, before the accident he was a wiley kitten after he was very mellow and slow but always loving and sweet. This place looks so happy for all the kittys. Great post!

I'm glad your kitty is okay and even after such a horrific trauma, came out of it positively in the end!

There are so many cats there with tragic backstories at the sanctuary but I do think it is the best place for them with loving volunteers to care for them. Every cat is loved uniquely and cared for depending on its needs.

What a wonderful place! So nice to see all those cats in a safe home after all they've been through. Thanks for letting us see these pictures.
