Hi everyone!
I am the human to two crazy kitties and loving every hectic and ridiculous minute. My smaller buddy is sleeping on my arm as I write this...I am always up for a challenge!
Growing up, my brothers and I desperately wanted a cat. We had a few strays adopt us, including the neighborhood cat, Frisky. Unfortunately my grandma, part of the household since 1992, was very vocal about not wanting one in the house so it wasn't until Thanksgiving of 2008 that we officially got our first family cat, Felix, who we suspect is a Maine Coon or Siberian forest cat or something. (He was a 7 mo shelter rescue.) Felix is fat, old and happy and - surprise, surprise - is grandma's best friend.
I rescued my two guys in January and May, respectively. Bash is about a year old and Frankie is about 7 months. They are both orangey and rambunctious, and my grandma is trying to persuade me to roadtrip with them for Thanksgiving, because they are her "grandchildren" and she wants to meet them. Haha! Amazing what kitties can do.
Bash was partially feral but was socialized at least a little in his foster home. However, he was moved multiple times before I got him around 3 1/2 mos, so he is a big chicken with separation anxiety, and no matter where I am in the house, there you will find him, or just on the other side of the door.
Frankie was a hot mess when I got him at 8 weeks, but he has fully recovered (except for some lingering persistent crud in his ears, which the vet has seen a few times) and is about as naughty and active as can be.
Anyways, I have already had a few questions answered, since I am a paranoid cat mama and my boys have had some troubles since I have had them, and I look forward to engaging with this community!
