Late day today.  Sorry!

Are you seeing any signs of the seasons changing where you live?

I am seeing the early signs of fall here.  It's still hot.  Too hot. But i hear next weekend will be cooler!  Let's hope!  We were driving yesterday and passed a forested area.  At the edge things were turning yellow and red.  I think they may be vines.  The vines that run along the fence behind our hedge row are turning red too.  I'm also seeing a little color on the younger trees in our yard.  They are about 7' tall now; but still young.  My neighbor has a tree that always drops leaves early; and it's losing them now.  I don't remember what kind of tree that one is; but it's growing very fast and he said it should be very tall.

While I am in NO hurry for winter; I am ready to have more enjoyable outdoor temperatures.  It still seems odd that we wear shorts and t-shirts to go apple picking here.  The orchard is full of bees; I'd rather have pants on!  I haven't seen any woolly bears yet to see what they say about this coming winter.  I have seen a couple flocks of birds; but they were smaller; so not the typical big groups we see migrating in the fall.

Not yet. Although, because of how hot and dry it's been this summer, a lot of trees are browning. But that isn't the same as changing.

I'm looking forward to autumn, it's one of my favorite times of year.  Summer, be gone!

no signs of fall here whatsoever right now. it's very hot here for the last several days, 93 degrees F was the high today!
no leaves even starting to change color and none falling from the trees, no canada geese heading north yet, hummingbirds still buzzing around, and the grass/lawn is still growing like it does during summer months. it's a very odd september here.

Oh yes, and I'm suffering them: trees are blooming, and the pollen makes my nose run, and my throat and eyes itchy. I'm not a fan of Spring in this city...

Not yet. :dead: It is still stinkin' hot and humid. The past couple nights have seemed a little cooler, but that be wishful thinking on my part. My tomato plants have put out tons of new leaves and blooms this week and normally they would be finishing up about now.

Yep, it's cold and wet and leaves are already starting to change colour.

We didn't really get a summer this year, it rained so much and we've been hit by 19 typhoons so far. My poor garden got washed away months ago.

Some of my linden trees have a few yellow leaves, and the sumac is turning red. Some of the barn swallows have left already, but not all of them. It's been raining a lot so that's keeping the corn from turning brown.

I don't know how to "read" wooly caterpillars, but the ones I've been seeing are all black. Whatever that means :D.

All black? Oooh, that is not good. I think that means, "Prepare thyself....the duck doodoo is going to hit the fan big time."

We have had no rain, nothing, for quite a while now. Our grass is crunchy and there is no mowing. Everything is drying up and the leaves are starting to turn and fall. I don't think it's because of fall, though; it's because it's so dry here now. And we're still in the lower 90s and will be pretty much this week before the temps start to drop a bit this weekend.

Don't get me wrong; I dearly love summer. But even I'm getting tired of the 90-degree weather constantly. It simply does not let up. And the humidity is terrible. We are all miserable now.

The only signs I have seen is that it's dark a little earlier now.
And it's staying dark a lot later in the morning, too. We don't get sunrise around here until around 6:00 now or even a little later than that. Earlier this summer, I was on the treadmill at 5:00 and it's was fairly light at that time.

It went from the high 30s C/90s F to the teens/60s within about two weeks. Days are noticeably shorter, and flocks of wild geese are heading south. Fall has definitely arrived!

Nope. it's still full blown summer here. it will be until December or so. Then we'll get something sort of like fall weather for a while minus any change in foliage of course. winter will be a few weeks in January-February when we can turn off the AC and might need a light jacket in the morning. Of course, if it dips below 70, I will whine like a 2 year old and bust out the electric blanket.

I only end up turning the heat on in the house a few days a year.

Yesterday, I noticed the leaves are changing and some on the ground but it was around 40 degrees C with the humidity.

We have had no rain and 90 plus degrees for so long now I think every thing is changing early, or dead. The hills were so green this spring with the wonderful rains, then it just shut off like a spigot. Now everything is brown and withered again. I seem to have a sprinkler going somewhere all the time, it's about impossible to keep up. It's green just 30 miles north of us! I can tell fall is close, the days are a lot shorter, the nights are getting cooler (finally) and we are supposed to be in the low 80's and even maybe 70's later this week. The tomatoes are finally producing, the sunflowers have such HUGE heads they are weighted down, and the cottonwoods are starting to drop leaves (probably from the drought) A city 150 miles east of us got 30 inches of rain this year, we don't look bad in the statistics, 16 inches, but we got it all at once and nothing since. I LOVE FALL!!! it's my favorite time of the year, it even smells different. Things are winding down instead of so insanely busy like in the spring!

Here in NC too. Still hot! It was actually nice to have a day last week that only got up to 83. LOL!   It's still HUMID!
Pollen count is back up too. (8 on a scale of 1-12) Grass & ragweed right now. AaahCheew!!

I can't wait 'till we have some nice crisp fall days!

It's very hot and humid here and we're in the middle of a sandstorm so the light outside is dark yellow and can't see the sun or a sky.
