Thank you Biancavd! I'll follow your advice and try to wean her soon!

Yes Plan, she is abandoned so I took her in. I found her near my neighborhood and we waited for the mother but she didn't come back. She was struggling to live so I brought her back and kept her. I have a heating pad with her and I'm keeping her warm but even so sometimes she meows at me.

The kitten above started meowing really softly all of a sudden. She used to have loud meows up until earlier today. She woke up at 12am to be fed and I fed her but suddenly she started meowing very squeakily. It sounds raspy and mostly she can't let out a loud meow. I can't bring her to the vet till at least tomorrow. What can I do to at least make her feel better or what should I be wary of?

Is she getting a head or chest cold? Are her eyes running, any sneezing or coughing?

Could be she's getting an upper respiratory infection (URI), and may need to see the vet for antibiotics.

If she's getting sick you can turn on the shower and sit in the steamy bathroom with her for a few minutes. This will clear her breathing somewhat.

Otherwise, did she inhale any formula by any chance?

Hmm... she hasn't been sneezing lots and I haven't heard her coughing. As for the formula, I made sure to not feed her too fast and made sure that she didn't inhale any.

I will try to do that so I can clear out her breathing and I'll bring her to the vet tomorrow if it doesn't get any better. Will update if any symptoms occur.

Just keep an eye on her for sure. She sounds like she's hoarse for some reason.

Update.

This morning when she woke up her meows returned. They were loud and clear until this evening. Her meows suddenly returned to her rusty state but otherwise she seems healthy.

As for the sneezing, coughing or watery eyes, she has none so that is not a concern as of now.

Does this happen to all cats once in a while or...?

Perhaps she meows so much that by night her voice is hoarse. As long as she is not sick or in distress, I think it's probably nothing to be concerned about.

Hello! It's me again aha!

I was wondering if it was okay to let her sleep through the night? She did drink some milk every feeding but I am still worried that she might get hungry. It is almost 3am and she hasn't meowed at me or signaled that she was hungry. She seems to be sleeping very peacefully. Should I be worried? I really need to get some rest because I was worried and haven't went to sleep yet.

Do not wake her to feed her. I'm sure she'll let you know when she's awake and hungry.

That's what I thought. Just had to reconfirm because I did some research and some said I had to wake her. Thank you for answering so quickly. I will take this chance and go get some sleep!

Oh and by the way, her name is Snowball! I'm sure she's happy to have a friend like you!

Just a little update!

She started drinking more formula since today! She either drank more times or drank more in one go and I am very happy to see her growing! She also pooped in the corner of her bed (which I cleaned) without stimulation! I'm really proud of her progress!!

Just a little question though, how do I get her used to the litter box? She seem to really hate it and cry a lot when I put her down into her litter box. I've also tried stimulating her when she's in the litter box to help her get the idea but she still seems scared of it. Been trying this for a few days now. Any tips?

The next time she poops in her bed,  put the poop in the litter box.  This way the litter will get her scent and she will begin too understand that this is where it goes.  It takes a little time, so have patience.

Glad she is eating more.

Sadly she suddenly stopped eating.

I'm not sure why, but she just started hating the bottle. She treats it like her enemy and hates it and I'm worried because she hasn't eaten at all and it's past 3pm at my place.

What should I do...?

In case you need some details, yes she still meows loudly like she is hungry, but completely refuses the bottle.

I will try. She started drinking again later in the evening. If she doesn't drink the formula later on I will try to give her mush.
