I adopted misty from a shelter and they said she was spayed, she had a couple false pregnancies and thursday she was acting different I noticed she was leaking clear fluid on my bed so I moved her to a comfortable spot and after five miutes of laying with her a kitten was born, 3 hours later another and she was finished

HOW SWEET!!!!  I guess she wasn't spayed after all, OOPS.  You should make a nest for her in a closet.  You can put down folded bed sheets or a quilt and move everything on the floor of the closet out.  Have you had experience with kittens and mam cts before?  I don't want to overdo instructions if you already know what to do.

I havent since I was like 15, about 20 years ago, this morning I noticed a couple fleas on the babies so I gave mama a dawn bath, change all the bedding and a new box picked the fleas off the babies

It's normal for them to want you close, this is new for her and if you praise her and pet her and the babies, it will calm her.  I can think of nowhere I would rather be than lying on the floor of my closet next to a purring mama cat nursing babies!  Bring a book and stay for awhile.  It's completely soothing.

You can actually use Advantage on a nursing mama cat and that will work for the fleas if they continue to be a problem.  They can kill kittens by eating all their blood.  If there are still fleas, keep changing the bedding frequently.  The fleas will usually go to the babies rther than staying on mama so you can pick them off.

Oh I also gave her a flea bath in the morning before she had her babies, I had no idea she was pregnant, is this going to harm the babies?

No, but no more flea baths now. The Advantage on mom will usually kill the fleas on the babies too.

You said you bathed her with Dawn so that would not hurt the kittens anyhow because there are no harsh chemicals in it, not a flea shampoo.  She is a gorgeous girl, and daddy was obviously a red guy.  Does she have any red on her?  I can't tell from the photo whether she has red on the right half of her face or if the color is different because of flash or lighting.

Be sure to keep her indoors until the kittens are weened and she is spayed.  She can go into heat and get pregnant again as soon as a week after giving birth.

Glad she is OK.  We strongly do NOT recommend Hartz products as they use ingredients that many cats are sensitive to.  Flea shampoos are not necessary anyhow -- just soaping them very well with thick dishwashing soap drowns most of the fleas if you let it sit for 10 minutes.  The Advantage should take care of the fleas in the future.

Ok, thank you. I got her advantage yesterday and it seems to be working well so that is what i be using from now on and tossing the flea shampoo. It appears one ofe the kittens eyes are starting to open, is this normal? They are 4 days old today and I thought they opened at about a week

I had a recent litter and one of the kittens had both his eyes open at five days old. Anywhere from about a week to two weeks is normal. Sounds like you've got a nice healthy litter there!

Glad you got the Advantage too. I personally had a very bad experience once with Hartz products. I would never use them again!

Oh no thats terrible. They are very healthy round lil tummies nursing a lot, mom rarely gets out of the box and once she hears they first cry she hops right back in :)
