Hi!  My name is Melissa and I have three furbabies, two two and half year old girls who are sisters, Ariel and Merida,  and a five month old little guy, Dmitri.  I also have two two legged babies who are 8 and 9. The kids named the girls, can you tell?   Anyway, I just wanted somewhere to talk kitties and bounce cat care ideas off of since my mom's idea of cat care and mine clash drastically and my husband is more or less indifferent  ( he's more of a dog guy).  So, hello from the Great Lakes!

Welcome!  I love the princess names for the kitties.  Very cute.  When I was a child our neighbour's daughter named their boy cat Twinkles, so it could be worse.  LOL  Dmitri is nice too.  At first I thought that was a Disney name as it sounded familiar but then I realized I had heard the name in Anastasia which isn't a Disney movie but often gets mistaken for one.

I grew up in the Great Lakes region though on the Canadian side.  I've only been to Michigan once though and that was years and years ago.

Dmitri was a mama chosen name and my husband makes fun of me incessantly for it.  It's the given name of my celebrity crush, although he doesn't go by Dmitri anymore.  I'm probably too old for celeb crushes, 35 this year, but oh well.   It helps that our Dmitri is a total snuggle bug and all he wants to do is cuddle and purr.   Merida is boss kitty, AKA Queen B, mistress of all.  Ariel is a chunk who funnily enough is obsessed with playing in her water bowl and is pretty much a big chicken about everything.   I have her on low cal food but she is always trying to get into the kitten food which makes me bonkers.
