I'm torn between being happy or at least relieved, and depressed and angry when I read this thread. I wish there was something you could do legally to this person (and I use the word person reluctantly). Thanks for keeping us posted.

I know what you mean. :( I am so happy he is coming home tomorrow, but so sad because of his condition. I keep reminding myself to be happy I got him back in time, and that he was able to be helped and is healing, and that all he will ever know is love and being spoiled rotten for the rest of his life! But still, it creeps back up, that in the end, I was the one who was responsible for making sure he was 100% going to a loving and caring home, and in that aspect, I did fail, but I have been given a chance to redeem myself in his eyes and for him. For that, I am thankful.

He is such a sweet baby. You guys are welcome to add me on facebook to follow his progress, and his life with his 6 brothers and sisters.

Are you going to create a FB page for his recovery? Could be educational for the greater kitty community.

I might actually do that! ^_^ I know I've learned a lot with him already. It could help others out and educate them on the real life situations that can arise from not checking out homes thoroughly enough, as well as making sure your kitties stay inside. Thanks for the suggestion!

He looks so sweet and happy and young!   And obviously thrilled to be back home where he knows he'll be treated like a prince.

I'm glad to hear he's home at last. Poor little guy, he's been through so much.

Here's to a quick recovery.

Oh, Bless you for taking such good care of this little one. I have been watching this thread. I got sick to my stomach when I saw the picture of him eating--the leg...poor baby.. I cannot look at it.. and I have a strong stomach for these things. The x-rays do not bother me, but the picture does...

He is so beautiful! Such a sweet face.... Yes, this was a case of something more than a 'dog attack"...the poor thing...

All I can say, is try not to beat yourself up about this situation. You thought you were doing the best you could. How could you know it would turn out this way.

As far as locating the people. If they are still in the area, could you do a reverse look-up on their phone? I do that when I get certain phone calls. I find out who is calling and then block them if it is a nuisance call. There are some web sites who will do a look-up for a fee.  Just an idea.

Yes, this little one is going to be spoiled rotten!! I would do the same...

I would surround him with love. for his entire life. I know you are going to do the same.

I am so glad you were able to rescue him for a second time.

Yes, please keep us updated with his progress...and lots of pictures and stories...I think I have fallen in love with this little guy..

Bless You....

((hugs)))

PS:   I Iove his frog!    He already looks much happier to be back with you.. in a loving home!

Thank you guys SO much for all your kind words about Oliver! <3 I am waiting for the vet to open and I  have sent the office manager/vet tech this video. I walked in to check on him and I saw blood had dripped on his other foot and I immediately freaked out. He's been making biscuits, as I call it, when he goes to lay down now and has been working that leg a little more than he has been, but luckily he is not a climber or a jumper and seems to know his boundaries right now while healing...but this did not look good to me. I think what happened is he has worked a stitch a little loose by how he's been using that leg a little more than he was. Maybe??? I am glad the discharge is completely clear with a slight blood-tinge, but still, I do not think it should be looking like this or doing this right now...so waiting to hear back from them to see what they think. What do you guys think?

It looks like he might have bust his stitches open. He'll probably need to have them stitched up again. Can you get him to the vet today?

Yes, we'll be going today. They are opened 8 to 11. I really hate this happened, I figured his e-collar would have prevented anything like this from happening. :\

Sometimes just jumping or being too active can bust them open. It'll be OK if you can get him to the vets today. Not your fault, so don't worry.

I took him, it actually is still stitched, but with him being active he actually just loosened it up so they were able to tighten it back up ans give him some more antibiotics since it was still sleeping some slightly goopey blood-tinged clear fluid and told me to keep giving him his light sedation medication to help keep him calm. But he is okay! <3

Sorry it took a while! I had quite a scare last week. I went to check on him and use the restroom before bed and his wound had burst open and was leaking bloody/milky discharge and I took a video and contacted the vet immediately even though it was the weekend. He had a worker grab me some antibiotics and stick them on their side door for me to come pick up!

After antibiotics, it cleared right on up and this sweet boy got his sutures taken out yesterday which means no more e-collar! He is a new kitty, he says! lol, spoiled rotten! He still has about 2.5 more weeks in my bathroom, but I've been bringing him out around the other kitties for about 5 to 10 minutes a day, I just watch him like a hawk while he is out.

I still owe a whopping $700 on his vet bill! O_O lol, but I have had over $600 donated because his bill was well over $1,000...so thankful that this vet WORKED with me and trusted me to sign a contract for payment! I'll be paying them off in full on the 25th and I can't wait! Hate it hanging over me. lol...but yes, my most expensive baby yet, but SO worth every single penny!

Thanks for asking about him! He is so happy he touched so many lives and that he was given another chance after being so close to his life being cut short!

Thanks for the update and the photos. He's had a rough patch but it is hopefully smooth sailing from now on. Kudos to you and to your vet.

This is so sad. Luckily he probably doesn't feel as bad about his leg as much as you do. And dogs and cats tend to do pretty well with 3 legs even. He is a real cutie!
