Quick update. It looks like his poop is a mustard color now and I THINK it has some solid bits in it. I have decided to take him to the vet in the morning if it doesn't solidify. I'm going to see if I can do a payment plan. I can't stand feeling like I'm not doing everything I possibly can for this guy.
Quick question: how do I "burp" him after he eats? I saw someone mention it on another forum.

There are a few ways.  You can put him on your shoulder, forearm or hold him in you palm and gently pat his back.

There is something called Care Credit.  It's a credit card some vets accept and let you pay off over time.  You can apply on-line or possible at the vet.  Lots of members use this.

You hold your little guy upright over your shoulder and pat him very gently on the back.

I do like that his poop has turned from orange to yellow, but it needs to move towards brown.

The vet visit is a great idea. Bring a poop sample with you because it's parasites that I'm concerned about.

We'll know more when he's been on the powder for a full 24 hours. You could probably wait until Monday if you'd like to give it a chance.

Okay. I think I will wait if you think it's okay. By that time maybe my husband will be more on board. I can't tell you how much better I feel having people to give me advice. Thank you all so much

Let's wait and see how he does over the weekend with his poops, but you see why I wanted you to move him off the pre-mixed formula. For some reason it seems to make kittens sick. I have yet to see a kitten who did well on it.

Can you weigh your little guy tomorrow?

I'm still working on getting a scale. My super awesome neighbor thinks her sister has one and she will bring it by tomorrow if she can.

Sounds good! :)

I cannot imagine you've had much sleep, but let me know a poop update today, as well as how many mL's he's drinking at each feeding when you get a chance.

I hope he's showing improvement :).

Okay so I added home made pediolyte and he seems to really like it. It's hard to tell how much he drinks because the bottle only marks each 15ml. But my best guess is he is drinking 5ml each feeding. But I'm a little worried because he didn't poop all night. Everytime I stimulated him he had some gas but no poop. Is that okay? My husband also said he is supportive of taking him to the vet :)

Hurray that hubby is on board!

So you are feeding pedialyte in addition to his regular feedings?

Aww, so sweet!

So you are mixing the powder with pedialyte instead of water? That's the way to go.

5 mL every 2 hours is good. If he still seems hungry you can give him more.

If he has gas, tummy rubs help. I'm really glad he's not having diarrhea!

However, he may now be a bit constipated, which is preferable to diarrhea in my book.

Just add a couple of drops of olive or vegetable oil to his bottles to soften things up (not baby oil).

Let me know later if it helps. He will poop eventually. If not we have a few other tricks.

Quick question on the homemade pediolyte receipe. I mixed it up in a small bowl but it says to put the concentrated one cup mix into a gallon of water. Do I do that so it is diluted and then add it to his formula or do I just use the one cup mixure I made?

"Use full strength for severely ailing chickens, otherwise mix into their drinking water as needed, a cup per gallon of water."
This is the part I'm talking about

Good question!

I would dilute this in one more cup of water and then use it as is with the powder.

He pooped! It wasn't water anymore it is about the consistency of mustard. It also is the color of mustard though... it's kind of bright yellow.

Yay for poop!

The consistency is good, but bright yellow is coccidia or a bacterial infection, so on Monday he will need to see a vet unless it changes, which I doubt.

Not all vets are good with kittens and some refuse to see them, so be sure to ask if they treat tiny kittens, because he will need medicine.

He just did a huge poop and it is exactly the right consistency, but it's not as bright yellow. Still yellow but darker.
