Your keyboard may not be completely dry yet. I suggest unplugging it and opening it up to air dry overnight or 24 hours. That should be enough time for all the water to evaporate from all the nooks & crannies & microswitches in the keyboard.

Luckily it was water and not something sticky like soda pop or coffee with milk and sugar.

Wishing you the best of outcomes,
b

ROTFLMAO!

I managed to read your post.

It possibly could be fixed but I think it would be cheaper and easier to buy a new one. They're inexpensive unless you need an ergonomic one. A basic keyboard in Australia cost me $15-$20.

So I would assume that it's relatively the same case over in USA.

If it was just water, I would have emptied out the water and let it stand for a couple of days to air dry it rather than take it apart possibly causing more damage.

I do hope it does sort itself out but it doesn't look good to me. i don't want to sound negative but that's my opinion.

Don't worry, I'll help spread the word as best I can for you.

And if things are really dire, just send me your address, specifications of what keyboard you need and I'll send one over for you free of charge.

Well, at the very worst, you can use your mouse to type with the on-screen keyboard...

(I'm using the Windows on-screen keyboard to type out this post...)

You poor thing. *stifles laughter*

I've used the onscreen keyboard before when my batteries in mine died right as I was chatting and I couldn't get up right away to get new ones.
It's a PAIN, but it'll work until you get a new one!

I hope you get it sorted out, it's a pain when things don't work, but at least it wasn't a laptop. My mum tipped tea over my laptop keyboard and 'forgot' to tell me about it! It never worked properly again!

I had to forgive her though..... she bought me my desktop as a replacement.

It was an expensive cup of tea

Gothic, I bought a brand new one that is supposed to be impervious to spills at Big Lots for $5.99.

You have to look to see if they have any in stock. You can also buy used one. But, check around to different places to get the lowest prices.

Good luck.

It's not dry yet. Take it apart and let it set for several days. The only time it's totally damaged is if something corrosive like juice or soda gets on it. Russian Spice Tea really tears them up!

I've had the exact thing happen when I spilled water on my keyboard a few weeks ago. You're going to be fine. You just have to make sure it has enough time to dry. Those flexible layers that route the signals of your key inputs may still have some moisture between them.

That happened to me last summer - JC spit up (grass and saliva) right on my laptop, and the keyboard stopped working. I had to send the whole thing away to be fixed. Good luck - I hope it dries out.
