About 2 weeks ago we adopted a cat from a local rescue. They told us he had CH. They also said that about 2 weeks before he had had a seizure. I assumed that it was part of the CH, not realizing that ch doesn't have seizures. Well since he has been home he has had 2 different kinds of "fits"
The first scares me and the second worries me
The first is when he is awake. He will be laying beside me and my dogs in the bed, totally calm. No one is touching or messing with him, the dogs are asleep and I'm watching TV. The cat will suddenly raise a paw in the air like he's going to bat the air (like a normal cat thing) and then suddenly swipe the dog, nails out, full force, hard enough that the dog has cried out! I'd I try to reach for the dog to calm him, it puts me in rang and I'm the new target for both cats claws and a full force bite- he has bitten hard enough to puncture my skin.

The second fit that worries me is while he is asleep. He will be curled up on his side (more dog like than cat like) and will start to randomly twitch a bit. OK I expect a little with CH from videos I've seen. But he will have these attacks- his front and back legs lock up, almost like they've been sucked up to his body, knees elbows shoulders and wrists (kitty equivalents ) all bent as tight as they can go, all of his toes splayed wide like he's trying to hold on for dear life. His mouth opens all the way, head thrown all the way back, eyes squeezed shut (rather than the normal light closed of sleep) ears back. It last maybe 5-10 seconds. Afterward he is fully awake, but has mini moments, he shudders and his ears go back. There will be like 20 shudders, only lasting just a second, over the course of a few minutes.
I have scoured the web, and found no video that looks even a little like what happens to him. And it's a very long drive to a vet from where we love and he threw up on just the drive to our house from the rescue.
Any ideas?

I think this really does call for veterinary input. Can you video these fits and email them to your vet? Given that he's seen your boy recently, he may be able to offer some insight/advice over the phone. A phone call would be a good first step anyway - your descriptions alone might be enough for your vet to help.

I fully understand that you don't want to stress him out unduly, but ultimately another trip may be needed to get to the bottom of these problems.
