Here is one I heard many years ago, please don't take offense. 

My cat thinks she is a carpenter because when I kick her in the butt, she makes a bolt for the door.

My favorite cat joke is the one about the cat-hating husband who tries three times to dump off his wife's cat but the cat keeps returning home. In the end, the husband goes far off to the forest to dump off kitty. Kitty returns quickly but not hubby. Finally, he telephones the wife, " Honey, is that darn cat back?"       "Yes!" she says.  The husband responds, "Well, put him on the phone so he can give me directions - I'm lost!"

.....as you can tell, I am terrible at telling a joke....
