My cat just has started acting aggressive in one area. I think she may have chosen where she wants to have her kittens.

I have a cat hidey-hole where my cats like to sleep. She has been in it more than usual lately. I fed my cats and afterwards, one of my other

cats went into the hidey-hole.

Indipoo went ballistic and chased the other cat out. Second cat tried the hidey-hole and Indipoo did the same thing. It was as though

she was protecting it and she will  not let anyone else get in there. As long as they stay away from the hidey-hole, she is her usual

lovey self with them. I have never seen her act that way.

I put a few towels in there  just in case and she has arranged them so to speak. I am wondering if perhaps that is where she

intends to have her kittens.

It certainly sounds like she is intending on using that spot.

Question, how do you know when your kitty is having pre-labor? How do they act, etc?

Thanks in advance.

She is very uncomfortable and grumpy. Seems anxious. There has been a bit more rippling, but not sure if that is kittens movinh or contractions.

She has been shaking her back legs quite a bit. Drinking a lot of water, but has no interest in food. She did eat this morning, but only about half of what she has been eating.

She ate 2 bites of food when I fed them a bit ago. No interest in nibbling kitten chow and she has been esting it like it was candy. She looks like she isn't feeling good at all.

Right now she is resting in one of the boxes I put out for nesting. I hope this is just first stage contractions.

She seems to feel a little better today. Didn't eat at all from last night until this afternoon. Wouldn't even eat a cat treat, and she loves her cat treats!!

Then an hour ago ate a full bowl of kitten food.

She is still uncomfortable, but has been walking around and is being very lovey dovey. Babies are lower and she looks thinner. The babies are very quiet today.

Until today we could feel them real good when petting her. Is that from them moving lower?

Is it normal that her sides just feel soft now? Her lower belly, where her nipples are is very firm though.

That is a relief to know! Thank you. We are still playing the waiting game here.

The rippling on a cat going into labor, does it start in the lower region of the cat's body?

It's usually all up and down the sides. What are you seeing?

It is rippling along an area from her back legs on down. It isn't constant.

She's got something happening. Could be some pre-labor. It's hard to know.

Reminds me of Braxton-Hicks contractions. Haha Unsure if cats even have those.
She went back into her nest box and is fast asleep. Stirred enough to let me rub her belly. Observed the rippling again, for a moment her whole belly rolled.
The kittens are so low that when she lays streched out she looks skinny until you get to her back legs. There it looks like she swallowed a ball. Haha
