My kitten turned 12 weeks old this week. He's on dry and wet food both (dry = free grazing and wet 3 times a day; usually, he doesn't have more than a tsp per feeding)

But yesterday before the vet visit he had 2 heaped tsps of wet food, then i took him to the vet (vet said he's perfectly normal and gave him his 2nd vaccine), then we came back and for the remaining 2 feedings he again had more than usual. For one of the feedings he almost ate half a can. This morning he again had half a can and then in the afternoon he had 2 heaped tsps.

I got him from a shelter, and although he loves wet food he was never able to eat more than a tsp per feeding until yesterday.

Today, after 2 feedings (1st feeding - half a can and 2nd feeding - 2 heaped tsps) he pooped like never before. It was all liquidy and he got it all over his back and toes (so i had to give him a bath. twice. first time was just plain water rinse and i thought i got it all off, but then i noticed it under his paws and on one of his legs, so i gave him a bath again but with (kitten) shampoo this time. He hated that and has been trying to attack/bite my legs/hands since then. He runs away as soon as i try to touch him. I feel so sorry for him...he's not acting normal today at all. He is extra hyper, more skittish, and diarrhea-ic).

I didn't give him his 3rd wet-food feeding today. I read somewhere that a pause in wet-food diet helps with treating diarrhea.....but how long should that pause be? Should i keep him on dry food until i notice fully formed poop again or should i withhold dry food too? When and what should i feed him next?

He pooped liquid-form again a few minutes back, and i had to wipe some off of his butt.  It stinks extremely bad.

Too much wet food today and yesterday + stress because of the vet visit, long car ride in carrier, and 2 baths in a row = how do i treat his diarrhea asap? (I shouldn't have fed him so much all of a sudden despite knowing how much he usually ate. but everyone keeps saying kittens should be fed as much as they want to :( i guess that doesn't work for wet food...?)

This is the second time he's got diarrhea since i got him from the shelter on 27th June. I think the last time he got diarrhea was also because he ate too much wet food but i am not sure...but that time his diarrhea was very very mild (with just 1 liquidy-poop, that too very very little).

I gave him a bath around 1st July, and then he got ^diarrhhea a week later so i had to give him another bath, and then today i had to give him a bath again because of another diarrhea. That's 3 kitten-shampoo baths in a month. I am worried about his fur/skin becoming dry and him becoming itchy. What do i do? Why does he get diarrhea so easily. Should i always give him 1 tsp because that's what he's used to even if he cries for more?

He got a fecal test done around 29th June and it came back normal, so there's no worms either. (and he was dewormed once at 8 weeks with milbemax)

Wet Food: Iam's Chicken Gourmet Pate (Kitten Proactive Health)
Dry Food: Simply Nourish Kitten Food Chicken and Rice

I think you need to call your vet and discuss the possibility of worms and/or other parasite infections such as giardia and coccodia. These are common in kittens, especially those from a shelter environment, and are simple to treat. They do need urgent treatment though, as kittens can dehydrate very quickly.

I suppose it's possible that the booster could even have caused the diarrhea, THAT along with the stress of the day.  I honesty don't think it's the extra WET  food.

The reason withholding wet food helps stop diarrhea is that kibble is DRYING.  So if not as much moisture is going in, not as much is coming out.

Also, they make these things called "cat wipes".  They are like baby wipes only for cats.  Maybe you could use those instead of bathing him so he wouldn't get so upset with you.

But I do agree that even though he was dewormed once, it's quite possible he still has some parasite or another and should be checked again.
