I am wondering if lactulose would be okay to give her. I've tried everything I have stimulated her, yesterday the poor thing had two enemas and she still has a bit left over that is making her feel sick, ive massaged her belly and her an us, put coconut oil on it to sooth the pain, I've done karo syrup. I haven't tried pumpkin or anything else because she won't eat or drink. The vet also gave her a shot of fluids last night but she still isn't doing anything. She will strain but it makes her tired so she sleeps all day and is uninterested in any food canned or bottled. She is about 4 weeks, and this morning she woke up and seemed like her old self then she tried to poop and is now sleeping again. I just want something safe and effective to give her with a syringe since she refuses to eat anything at all

Also she is usually super hungry and her appetite is outrageous. I think kmr powder made her constipated from what I've read about it so I'm trying to stick with just royal canin now

Exactly, which of their products do you mean?

RC makes also an decent  kmr, swedish breeders are happy with it, as much as with the PetAgs KMR in powder - I presume its what you use?

Another alternative is goat milk.   Raw goat milk is best, but full fat bottled, cartooned or even powdered milk, should be OK too.   I like to believe raw, unapsteruized goat milk is a nice multipurpose kitten milk.  Sometimes even a remedy in itself.

One of my rescued cats had chronic constipation for months. I used over-the-counter Miralax--mixed the powder in with her food once a day. The dose is 1/8 or 1/4 of a teaspoon once or twice a day. You can check with your vet.  It worked well with my cat. After a few months, she finally became regular and has had no problems since.

My vet gave me an ounce of the lactulose. I may try the powder once she starts to eat again. I hate that she won't even touch her food. She eats the royal canin recovery because she was fairly underweight when I found her. She loves it usually, about 4 table spoons a day is her usual appetite now. I am giving her nutri cal so she as at least getting some nutrients and I'm having to use a syringe for water because she just won't take to it. And yes, I'm using the pet ag kmr powder. I switched when the premixed cans ran out

This in powder is usually more relaible than theirs premade.  Fewer problems with both diarrhea AND constipation.

Sometimes its needed to dilute it somewhate more with water than the recommended, though = a standard trick.

You were at the vets, who tried with enema.  This is usually the last step in the algoritme, so Im not sure what you did earlier.

Had you tried to have some  oil in the kmr?  My favorites are coldpressed  rapeseed oil /canope,   or coldpressed virgin olive oil.  As these are both mild and healhy in itself.  But probably any vegetable food oil will work.

The same idea with minerale oil, which is even more potent.  The difficulty is of course, to find an minerale oil which is of food grade,  ie totally harmless. Most minerale oils are NOT supposed to be taken orally, they are typically for the skin.

Also, some forms of submerging in warm water is beneficial.  It soothens their stomach, and makes the tensions let go. Thus, the elimination along this receipt is usually very efficient.

A warm, draughfree room.  You let warm but not hot water run, a little warmer than the cats body temp.   You lay the kitten back down on your left palm (if necessary on a little towel, so its not  slippery).  Head to you, rear end out.   In under the running warm water, it itself massaging it.  And with your right hands forefinger, you tap softly but yet decisively, on the kittens private parts....  Feels like moms tongue licking.

It usually works like a charm.

Afterwards, you of course dry off they kitten thoroughly, and lay down on a bed with a heating source, so it wont get chilled out...  You can alternatively carry it at your chest.

As alternative to enema, putting in a little glycerine in the anus may help.  You take the glyceringe kone, and strip out a small bit, so its not too big for the kitten. Use...

Here is in better english, told by  Catwoman707:

You can also try a glycerin suppository shaved down in size to a sliver and gently insert and hold it there while it melts.

This helps sometimes too.

How is it going, @nicosomething
