I would say the 5   pound bag should last  the  whole month  if you feed one meal of kibble and one meal of wet .   I would say for your cat  about 1/4 cup of kibble  and 3 to 5 oz of wet per day . My female is 10 pounds and this is how much she eats ..

Yes Sheba is very good food ..

Any of the grain free would be good although for the canned  it is good to limit fish to once or twice a week ..

oh ok , i think the 4 pound bag should last you the month .   if you plan on one can a day then just one case should be good , and a few single  cans to last the rest of the month .

The cuts are pretty good but the pate would have less carbs .  I guess it mostly depends on what your cat prefers .

I would say more wet food than dry since kibble has a lot of carbs .  If you can ,  do 2 meals of wet ( at least 3 oz at each meal ) and a little kibble in between   . You can also use the kibble as treats ..

This is what I do for my cats and they seem pretty satisfied .

What Cat food would you Recommend
I recommend any of the Nature's Variety Instinct foods. I'm not sure if they contain potato or not so check the ingredient list on the web site.

For something more affordable and more widely available, Friskies is a good choice. Special Kitty, a brand found only at WalMart, has some good varieties.

Petco and Petsmart often have food sales on good brands so you may be able to get some brands that you normally wouldn't be able to afford.

Pate foods are more worth your money than cuts/ shreds/etc. You get more food in a can with pate while cuts/shreds/etc are usually mostly gravy or sauce with little actual food. Add water to the pate food to make "gravy". But feel free to rotate in cuts/shreds/etc once in awhile for the variety.

I can't afford mostly wet food due to my monthly income

Petsmart's Grreat Choice has some good varieties and even the diva sisters like them.

My store had 13.2 oz cans of the Grreat Choice Mixed grill pate for .67 cents recently. I have seen the 5.5 ounce cans for .39 cents. They can't keep them in stock at that price.
