Hi there

I wrote here a few months ago about just a horrific traumatising spay my cat went through!! Just horrible and I took her to an animal hospital (not where spay was done) she was given an ultrasound and they said she looked fine and everything was removed in the surgery but was infected etc I was back and forth to the hospital for nearly 2 months.

This was in February she has gone into heat twice since then! At first I thought it might have been a phantom heat as I heard that can happen, but yesterday she went into heat again!!!! [emoji]128546[/emoji]

I have just moved and I won't even talk about the stress of moving I've been sick, nowhere accepts pets (I live in Bangkok) she's an indoor cat and after months of searching I ended up sneaking her into my apartment.
Now I'm so stressed I know she is going to start yowling today or tomorrow! I feel terrible all the stress she's been through but god I'm so stressed as well I don't know what will happen if they find out I have a cat [emoji]128542[/emoji]

I have catnip spray and feliway spray which I was using to help her get used to new apartment but is there anything I can do to stop her yowling? I've been kinda rubbing her back hard just at top of tail when she gets real squirmy and it seemed to ease her a little

Any advice would be much appreciated

Okay, I've heard of this happening but I've not ever seen it. The Vet who did the spay may not have done a through job, they may have missed a few pieces of tissue, just enough to set off the heat cycle. Can you see if they will go ahead and re-spay and check to see if there was anything? It might be too small for the ultrasound to pick it up.

I remember the traumatic time you had with the original spay. Sadly, I think another operation is your best option here. Are you able to find a better veterinary practice now you've moved? This one looks good http://www.sukhumvitvet.com/...but I'm only too aware that looks can be deceiving. I hope you're able to find somewhere good to get her treated :vibes:

Im actually going to sukhumvit vet this evening i contacted them on recommendation from a friend (takes her dog there)
They advised to try a hormone injection as its possible the remnant could be so small they may not see it in another surgery.

I dont want to put her through another surgery unless necessary i know shes gonna be petrified just visiting vet tonight but will speak more to them an see. Hopefully its gets sortes bless her!

They sound like they know what they're doing :) I agree that injections are far preferable to a second spay..especially given the trauma the first time round. :cross: that the hormone injection works. :vibes:

Hopefully that hormone injection will do the trick

Did she get the hormone injection?  Is it doing any good?  Not sure if it's immediate or if it tames some time to kick in.
