2 years ago, I got a tattoo in dedication the battle I went through from my Thyroid Cancer =

The first photo is the before. I was not happy with how it came out. the lines are too thick and not straight. The artist didn't want to 'fix' it.. so I said screw it.

Yesterday I found another artist by rep and great reviews. We talked and designed together and this is the final result. I am happy with it. I may go back and get some flowers added.. not sure yet.

Wow - love it
The new version looks so much better
I think it looks great just as it is.
I agree. It looks great!!! I wouldn't change anything else!! My BIL had thyroid cancer, too. He got it from going down into the wreckage of the World Trade Center after 9/11. A lot of first responders got cancer after that.
Fortunately, they caught it early and he's OK too now other than the fact that he no longer has a thyroid. I'm glad that both of you made it through your battles

thanks all! I am happy with it :D

@Kat0121- thanks. I hope your BIL is fairing well. It's not easy to live without a thyroid!

Nice! I really like the colours.

Is that your only tattoo? I think they're kind of addictive, once you have one you start planning what you'll get next.........

Thanks. He is doing OK. He has to take meds to compensate for the lack of a thyroid. No, it's not easy at all but he's alive and we're glad about that.

I agree. I have four and started thinking about #5 as soon as #4  was done.
I gotta wait though. DD is working on her bachelor's and after that she will start for her master's so once that is over and she gets herself into a career I can go into ME (and furkids, of course! ) mode.

thanks :) the colors are the Thyroid Cancer awareness colors (though it didn't turn out exactly.. ugh)

Tattoos are addictive. I have 3, and I want to add on to one of them.

That is great. The artist did an awesome job fixing it.

@Norachan  I've always been told they are addictive. I know several people who want to get more and more (my daughter for one, LOL)

I have one on my left forearm for my daughters (a red heart with the kanji symbol for soul in the middle of it) and I want one more for my beautiful baby boys that I lost (George, Raven & Ghost). I am planning on getting a yin yang symbol with a black and a white cat for them.

George was a tuxedo. Raven was solid black and Ghost was solid white. I figure this will be good for all 3 of them.

I have a large tattoo on my shoulder of a lotus flower but it's faded--I've talked on and off for years about getting it recolored.  This thread is inspiring me--maybe I'll finally go get it done!

That's a beautiful tat. I have 7. One for each of my grandchildren. I have dumbo, a unicorn, a cat on each arm and one on my hand, a little dog on my left beast

That's a beautiful design. In Japanese the kanji would be pronounced Kyou Zon, which means co-existence. I guess it has a different way of being pronounced in Chinese but the meaning would be the same.

Wow, that's impressive Stewball. Did you get them all done in Israel or the UK?

I have two small ones that I had done while I was living in England and a big back piece, that took three sessions to finish, that was done in Japan. I'd love to get another one, if ever I have any spare cash.
