Does anyone know how long after giving Strongid to cats before it gets ride of all the roundworms? my 4 adult cats and 1 4-5 week old kitten Earl got dewormed with it on june 9th next dose due june 30th
And if your cat got Strongid at any point did they act like they didn't really have much of an appetite if so is that normal and how long will they get there full appetite back?

Im unable to make phone calls because my phone is being weird

By the way the reason why all 5 of my kittys got treated because Marty has roundworms tested positive for them by vet on the 9th he thinks thats whats causing martys diarrea by the way Stefan been fixed on june 9th if you guys are wondering

And on jun 1 st i ended up taking in a 3-4 week old kitten in he had ear mites and had fleas not now he has a URI he been on antibiotics since jun 2 his right eye is blind from it all greyed out his name is Earl Drew he is now 4-5 weeks old now and he went from .9 lbs to 1.2 lbs and he eats fine do you guys have any suggestions on how to keep away the URI after he is done with his meds? Besides L-Lysine yes he gets L-Lysine.

To answer your first question, the second dose of strongid should take care of any new worms and that should be the last of them.    The first dose of Strongid kills the living worms but cannot touch the eggs.  The eggs will hatch between doses but will not yet be mature enough to breed and lay more eggs.  The second dose will take care of all those young worms and then you should be done with worms -- unless your cat goes out, of course, and then they can constantly reinfect themselves.  Usually we get a fecal done on the cats a week after the 2nd dose and if it is negative,we can mark that on their records and there are no more doses due.  If there are still a few worms,we note that on the record an advise they get a third dose in two more weeks.

Mine have never lost their appetite from strongid, but if they were vaccinated at the same time they were wormed, they may lose their appetite an get a low grade fever from the vaccination.

Adding Lactoferrin to his food along with the lysine should help him greatly with his URI.  It stimulates the immune system and seems to get rid of the leftover problems with runny eyes and things after the URI is over.

Here is a thread discussing the uses of lactoferrin along with the lysine.  You can get lactoferrin on Amazon.  Most of us have been using the lactoferrin made by Jarrow, so I can tell you it has no unpleasant taste an you can mix it in with wet food.  It comes in 250 mg. capsules and I put half in the food in the morning and half at night.  Some people have used twice that amoun, but that is with adult cats.  Your kitten is tiny so this should be enough.  You usually get results that are obvious within 5 days or so if it is working for your animal.

As for his cloudy eye, I can't tell if that his his 3rd eye lid sealed shut or if it is the healing scar tissue that forms over an ulcer.  It will be full of blood vessels that are healing the eye surface underneath.  The vet can stain and see if there is any ulceration and if not, there are eye drops with a steroid in them in addition to antibiotics and that helps dissolve the scar tissue.  If that doesnt work, some cats can have the scar tissue lifted off surgically.  If it's the 3rd eyelid just stuck shut, the vet can even open it surgically when the cat is neutered.  That happened with one of mine.  His eye was fine underneath, but the infection had caused the 3rd eyelid to form adhesions and it could not open until those were cut.  Worst case scenario is that you end up having the eye removed to make him comfortable, and they do just fine with one eye.

About Earl the kitten is thric eye lid isnt over his eye and his eye is all greyed out i dont know what exactly it is i just know he cant see out of it this is the first time i had a URI kitten with the eye issue he can open is eye all the way like the other eye i've had 2 cats in the past with 1 eye from different reason Zane Buffer and Mewlittle the one in my profile pic both have passed away from cancer :( and i will look into lactoferren

About Marty he only got the rabies shots on the 9th how long after getting the shot before the symptoms go away? And his diarrhea isn't as bad as it was but not to normal poop yet if he still has diarrhea after a week or so after the 2 dose i will do enother worm test if it comes back positive then i will ask the vet if i can dose the cats again for the 3rd time when it is safe and if its negitive the vet wants to treat him for giardia and coccidia but i dont know about the other cats thou there poo is normal

About Stefan on the9th he got neutered and a Rabies shot and got dewormed his appitite came back

About Mikaela she didnt get no shots yet but got dewormed and her appitite went down like Marty's and looks like she gained IDK why she gain weight
