So I bought a few cans of Sheba Pate for my cats  , I had a coupon Buy 5 Get 5 Free .

I gave each cat a whole can with a little added water ..

No interest , they  just sniffed it and walked away ..

So I mixed in a few tsp of Purina One Smartblend kibble ( favorite kibble of all time ) and left the room ..

Went back later , BOTH   dishes licked clean ..

Little stinkers  ..  I guess they know what they want .

At least they ate a new food  . I am going to try Friskies Plus  pate  next ..

LoL, I'm glad you managed to get them to eat the new food - even if it did mean mixing it up a bit!

When Mouse was a youngster and was still eating wet food the Sheba pate was one of the few he seemed to like.  (He wasn't keen on any of the kitten foods and the kitten dry used to upset his tummy). His preference was a similar but cheeper and higher in protein supermarket own brand one here (Aldi) which was good for me.
He wouldn't eat any of the Friskies ones.

@MServant... Thank you   .  I am just happy they tried something different .  I have no problem giving them a little kibble anyway .   They did eat the Friskies Plus pate ( with a little kibble mixed in )  for dinner last night .

Sounds like you might have found a couple of options here.  I hope you can get them to eat these a few times over and not be one tray wonders.  The cheep pate that Mouse used to like was probably a similar kind of consistency to pate with kibble in because it had lots of chewy pieces of offal etc in there rather than being completely smooth.  Maybe it's a bit more like a natural food where they would be eating a mixture of textures and having to do some crunching on the chewy bits.

Thank you , I am pretty sure I can get them to eat the Fancy Feast and Sheba regularly since they are similar . I am not too sure about the Friskies though , they were never crazy about that to begin with ..  I think mixing in a little of  the Purina kibble does the trick though .. They prefer that over anything ..

My 2 like Sheba too. I buy a few of the pates.  I don't feed it as much anymore because I think one of the flavors was giving my cat odd color BM.   I still buy it from time to time though. They like it, its cheaper than most and the ingredients aren't bad (just that Vitamin K thing which apparently is a concern. I don't know anymore. It seems we need to be concerned about everything)

Mine seem to be liking the Sheba , I think because it is similar to FF .   Yeah I am not sure about the Vitamin K thing either ..

2 2cats4me Have you tried any of the "store brands" that are FF clones? Petsmart's Great Choice Gourmet; Publix's Gourmet; and Kroger's Luvsome all have the exact flavors as FF Classics with the same ingredients and nutritional composition BUT DO NOT have the menadione Vitamen K. And they are all a few cents cheaper than FF Classics. My cats both like them equally as well as Fancy Feast so I think the taste must be the same. Anyway, if you have a vitamin K concern, it might be worth trying.

The only one of those stores we have is Petsmart . I have never thought to try the  3 oz cans of Great Choice but I definitely will pick some up  .. Thank you ..

What's vitamin K?
.
Menadione Sodium Bisulfate is a synthetic form of Vitamin K .  There is a lot of conflicting information about the safety of this in pet food ..

Mouse would only eat the Chicken and liver and all the others got wasted.
My cats are pretty picky about flavors too . They , hate anything with  Turkey , Duck , Salmon ..

That is awesome. You are so lucky! I don't know why, but when I have tried putting kibble with wet food, my cat will not touch it. She starved all night when I tried that before and won't touch it when I try that now. =/

@Bonitababy  ... Thank you  , it never has worked with any other kibble .  I decided to try a small bag of Purina One Smartblend and they love that stuff ..  I just have to mix in a small amount and they will eat the new wet food .  They even ate 2 cans of Friskies pate ..

Oh, I see. I have 2 almost full 15 lbs bags of Orijen -- Regional Red and Cat & Kitten kibble, so I don't want to try doing this with any other kibble. When my kitty was on Hill's Science Diet kitten kibble after her vet stays and was loving it, I did try to put some of it on top of wet food, but got nothing from her. =/ She looked at it and sniffed and hovered and then didn't even touch it because it was on top of wet food. I had to put the dry kibble in its own bowl so she could eat. Picky cat. Just like her mama! :D
