Thank goodness! How did he get the poo out? He thinks HE is healthy otherwise? Did he give any other advice? Glad you called the vet! :)

He said she is perfect he doesn't understand why a mama would had abandoned such a perfect kitten... He first bathed/soaked her in warm soapy water and while she was in the water he massaged her belly to lossen all the hard clumps that had her backed up then he used an enema he massaged her for about 30 minutes and she absolutely loved it I felt it seemed a little rough but she loved it so guess I'm just a little vet protective he also said that goat milk is what caused her constipation but idk cause she didn't have any problems at first when we were using the liquid her problem didn't start until we switched to powder goat milk so really torn on that because I've read a lot about hand feeding kittens since she was added to my family and most people use the goat milk

It is common for very young kittens to become constipated. The goat's milk is very good for her - highly recommended! Will you keep her on it? Also sounds like the vet did a great job! I'll bet your kitten feels fantastic now! :)

He also told me to start giving her water in her bottle some too and yes I'll probably keep her on the goat milk unless she begins to have more problems I wonder if I should put a little olive oil in at least one of her bottles daily?? I just really want to avoid this happening again because she had to be miserable but now she is very happy and sleeping soundly i could tell a huge difference her tummy went from a huge round belly to a real nice slim belly I can't believe she was that badly constipated and I always stimulate her with every feeding plus massage her tummy and bathe her so idk he does want me to start stimulating her between feeding as well as continuing to do it with every feeding

The bottles of water are an excellent idea. And yes, a few drops of olive oil in some of her bottles would probably be helpful, and certainly not harmful. The extra stimulation should help prevent this happening again. I'm sure she was miserable, poor baby. And it gets easier as they get bigger because they can go on their own. But now all is well. :)

That is awesome that she's fine! Im really glad.
I'm sure it was the powder form of milk that made it happen. You could always try watering it down a little bit more. That's what I do.
As sarthur2 said, it gets so much easier when they're older. Mine is 4 weeks now. He still gets stimulated; but the add of solid food with his formula has him going poo more now.

She hasn't went since the vet got her to go I'm so worried she is getting constipated again

Give it another day before too much worrying. He really cleaned her out good yesterday. Try to push the fluids in the meantime! :)

I agree, a little more water (by drops or somewhat diluting the goat milk)  and a couple of drops of olive oil, should help the constipation.

Otherwise, you can use a variant of the method used by the vet, and recommended by Catwoman707 and me, using warm running water.

Make sure there is warm and cozy, no draught.

Let warm  water run, not hot but a little warmer then the kittens body temp.

You lay the kitten on your left hand, backside down, head to you, rear end out.   If necessary, held her with a little towel, if it makes your grip more sure.

Let the warm water run on her, warm and cozy.   With the forefinger of your right hand, you tap cautiously yet  decisive, on her private parts.  It will feel like moms tongue washing...

It usually works nicely.    :)    And no sores from excessive stimulating either.

Afterwards, be sure you dry off the kitten thoroughly, and have her on someting warm - once wet, they feel chilly even if its not chilly at all... Precisely like humans who were wet.

Be sure she is not chilled out!

Re the usual stimultion: a somewhat similiar tapping on the private parts is often enough, its often not necessary to use the wet cotton...

There are some extra tricks IF she gets constipated for real.  Glycerine in the behind, or even some enema,... but its a later question, not yet.

Yes, give her a day. :)
She might even go around the same time she did when the vet made her go.

He left us an enema to use if she gets bad again but most likely I'll call him back out in a day or two if she doesn't go because like I told him yesterday I do not feel comfortable enough to use the enema because I'm afraid of hurting her for not really knowing what I am doing but until then I will continue to do what he said plus the use of the methods u all have mentioned I'm really glad I found this site u all have been so helpful through all this [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Excellent, well done!   What was the consistency of the poop?   If hard as on an adult, it was sign of somewhat constipated.   If so, proceed with the small everyday extra tricks as mentioned above.

The tooth-paste consistency is the ideal for  milk/kmr  feeding kittens
