My two 7 month old kittens have been doing wonderful on their raw diet. I get all my meats, Alnutrin, and such from haretoday.

I would like to bring down the bone content of the next batch, 27% bone is way to high for my cats. I have them around 15% now and that is still too high. I'm looking to give them around 8% bone in the diet.

I'll be ordering it today :/ lol. I'm going on vacation this coming month and money is tight so I would like to go with the turkey this time, or chicken (both have the same ratio in the meat/organ/bone grind)

If I add boneless chunks, boneless grind, chicken hearts or chicken liver to bring the bone content down how much extra of everything should I add.

I assume I'll need extra liver, Alnutrin, hearts if I am adding more boneless meat, correct?

Here is a screenshot of the ratios I'll be starting with. Sorry everyone I'm bad at math haha

I'll be purchasing 35lbs of the chicken or turkey grind (meat/organ/bone grind)

I think the question is answered. BTW, everytime I place an order with HT I am SO grateful for your calculator!

Ok, I've tried for two days to get the calculator to work.  Anyone else having problems or is there a trick that I don't know?  Appreciate any help.  I do have to type in chicken because when I click on "select" nothing comes up.  I fill in all the appropriate numbers and hit calculate and nothing happens.

If you want to select a predefined ingredient hover your cursor over the right side of the "select ingredient" entry box. Click on the ingredient you want then click Select.

I don't know the menu handle isn't visible unless you hover over it. That's a bit of a pain. You can also manually enter the composition percentages and just click Calculate.

I've made a change that will hopefully make it easier to understand how to select an ingredient. Take a look at it now and let me know if the change helps. After going to the page you may have to select "Reload" in your browser to get the updated page. Be sure to click the Select button after you have selected an ingredient.

It should look like this now when you first get to the page:

I did reload the page as you suggested and hovered over the drop down and was able to choose whole chicken and choose the percentages that I wanted but when I click on calculate it doesn't do anything.  I am using Safari…could it be my browser?

Yes, it might be a problem with Safari.

Just to be sure I understand what you are seeing: When you click the "Select" button you see the percentages change but when you then click "Calculate" nothing happens?

Correct.

The percentages change to 68% meat, 32% bone and 0% organs.  I click on calculate and it doesn't do anything.  But my "calculate" doesn't look like the one in the above snapshot.  It's on top of the directions on how to use the calculator.

OK, thanks. I'll  see if I can figure out what is wrong. I don't have access to Safari though so I don't know if I'll be able to fix it.

Update: For others who may try the calculator, the problem seems to associated with using Safari on a Mac laptop. The poster was able to use the calculator on an iPad and I was able to use it on an iPhone.

I have not had any problems using the calculator. I never use the drop down portion. I just enter in the percentage of bone, meat and organ and submit. I am aiming for 80% meat 10 % bone & organ so I figure it isn't important to enter the kind of meat I am using as long as I know the percentages I am starting with.
