I also took in a stray cat who became pregnant before we could her spayed 13 weeks ago. The kittens are now gone to different homes. I did not realize how fast a cat would go back into heat but she is. I do not understand people, everybody worrying about having dogs/ cats spayed and I do agree, however, I have called every vet in my city to find prices to have her spayed. They are 199.00, 218.00, 200.00, between 300.00/400.00 dollars, even the Humane society would be at least 65.00 without being in heat, if in heat 25.00 more dollars plus 10.00 for rabies shot. That is if you are eligible for a voucher. I am a single grandmother trying to help my son who is a single father raise his two children. This cat followed my 11 year old grand daughter home and she loves her. I do not understand if there is such an overpopulation why vets can't offer their services to help with this problem one or two times a month or at least offer affordable rates, after all they could probably claim it as a tax deduction on their income tax its not like they do not see animals the rest of the time at regular prices. I understand why people take their animals to the humane society (which I do not want to do) with prices the way they are you cannot afford to live yourself little lone enjoy an animal and give it a home.
