Hi all, we took in a cat on 19th March her owner no longer had time for her, as soon as we got her she was hungry alot so we wormed her, still she seemed starving, I also noticed her nnipples were protruding more than my spayed girl, about 2 weeks later a male tried to mate with her she didn't show signs of heat and batted him away also he couldn't find the right place if u know what I mean!
My question is does it sound like she was already pregnant when I got her? If so can anyone tell by the symptoms hoe far she could of Been?
(please do not tell me she needs spaying I know this)
She is now very pregnant and has spent 2 days obsessively grooming her back belly tail, she's still eating normal though and no milk or movement yet, but I read I may not feel them move. You can clearly feel kittys in there

Forgot to add she's always been very friendly but she doesn't want to leave me at the min unfortunately I can't be with her all day though, today she's been giving me a little meow and laying down with her belly exposed and I have been rubbing it, she falls asleep during that so it must feel nice lol

It takes about 63 days, so I would say she is VERY close, especially if you can feel kittens. It's hard to say when she got pregnant. I want to thank you for taking her in, she is very lucky, thank you!

Yes, the last two-three weeks you shall feel them move.  Many even see them move.

Before that its fully possible to feel the lumps alike walnuts... If you are somewhat skilled in palpitation...

Hi all, my cat is very pregnant but we don't know when she's due, I can very clearly feel the kitten shapes and have felt slight movemen. I have nesting boxes set up but she doesn't go near, she was always on my bed especially if i'm in it but she's now in my bedroom window most of the time, I worry about her jumping up there but I can't stop her, will she find a nesting place still surely she won't attempt to use the window sill lol. Her nipples have become a bit fatter, i haven't seen discharge but I'm not around her all the time. So nervous about all this

So my cat is huge, yesterday her belly was hard and today seems less poking out at the sides. She's eating normal, she has gone in her nesting boxes a few times but prefers to just lay on the carpet, my worry is so far today I've not felt kitty movement - yesterday was less than usual. Should I be worried

If she seems less poking, smaller, she has probably dropped..

But yes, its a little peculiar you dont feel them move..

Still the difficulty is to know the timetable.  Was it about 19 mars? and she is late now?  Or was it about 1 april, and she is still somewhat early?

I dunno. the only safe way to get some knowledge is to go to a vet, if he is any good, and get his opinion.

If you cant, its just to wait and hope for the best, being prepared as well you can....

I don't know date wise anything from 19 March really, I haven't noticed any discharge but she is cleaning alot so may have removed it, she has had more interest in nesting areas and cuddly. I read that little or no movement can mean anytime now so hoping that's true. She wants me to keep rubbing her belly it's sweet

Yes, it helps her also to prepare. Helps the hormones.

True, shortly at the end, when she dropped, the kittens arent as much moveable.  The problem is you never felt them for real, if I understand it right.  This is because of it we never got no safe counting point.

Anyways, the signst are typical of nearing, so its just to observe, and wait patiently.

I've felt the kittens for over a week now, just today almost nothing but since I posted I have felt movement a few times I guess there's no room in there now so no more acrobatics lol

It sounds like she is really close, as in any day now! Good that she is showing interest in her nesting areas. I assume you've been feeding her as much kitten chow and wet food and fresh water as she wants/needs while pregnant for good nutrition. You won't see much kitten movement at the end. When you start to see her belly rippling, that is early contractions. Many mama cats want their favorite human nearby when they are close to birthing and during delivery. It gives them comfort. It's a waiting game now, but I doubt you have long to wait! Good luck and let us know! :)

Ok the vet said each day squeeze a teat and when I get milk it means Labour in the next 24-48 hours, I've just done my daily squeeze and there was a drop of milk is that what she means? There wasn't much about the size of a pin head

That's what she means. She'll have those babies sometime this week anyway. You don't have to keep squeezing since you know she has milk now. Good luck! :)
