Thank you!

Nothing so far, she's stopped panting but her Resp is 60. Tech mode is coming in telling me this is way to high!

I think her labor stopped. Her Resp has settled down and she's sleeping [emoji]128531[/emoji]. When do I need to start worrying?

AS you DO have access to experienced vet, I would suggest you phone and talk it over.  Dont you worry you know they cant do a cesarean because your collegue isnt there.  Take advantage of their professional knowledge, and let THEM worry how they will solve the problem with anesthesia nurses, if they decide to do a cesarean

That is my advice for now..

Im deep sorry Im writing this firstly now,  I should written this immediately I saw this your answer...   Sometimes I get insigts while away from the computer.
The vets I work with have done them before. The problem is the other tech is pregnant herself and I would have to help with the anesthesia

I know Im probably over reacting, but it's hard when I know of all the compactions that can happen, hell I usually only see the comlacatios! Other than my own cat, and bottle feeding stays or abandoned kittens, you don't see much of the labor part from a clinic.

I think I'll leave it to sunday, see if she goes into labor herself.

I'm still hoping for today. She's trying to get out of her room, and I'm pretty sure she didn't sleep at all last night. resperate seems high, and she's walking around crying even with me in here with her

What is a normal resperate of a cat going into labor?

Thank you Stefanz! I must seem like a crazy, but even though I haven't had her long, I'm a worried mama for her. Just want to take away her pain and being uncomfortable

It may be that the cat's respiration was up too because of anxiety. From your description, the cat is not in distress. Labor can start and stop. It sounds like you need to give it some time this weekend and see what happens. Hopefully it will all be fine. I think you will recognize distress if the cat becomes distressed. Normal labor is not the same as distress due to problems. I could be wrong, but for the moment it does not sound like a problem.

She should be fine while you are at work. All cats are different. Some meow like crazy & others go about birthing very quietly. Just like humans, every experience is unique. Add to this that the poor kitty finds herself in a strange new environment. You are being very kind. And it IS hard not to worry about pregnant cats and kittens! :)

Told you she'd be fine! She is getting close, but relax and let it happen. It will happen soon. She's on her Mother Nature schedule rather than "our" schedule. Hang in there! :)

PS: She is beautiful! Love her! Such a doll baby!

She's very beautiful! I'm falling in love and I was told not to [emoji]128531[/emoji]... I have 4 cats and a dog, not allowed anymore hahaha!

We have panting again! And she can't sit still. Hopefully tonight! I'm exhausted for her! I wish I could take away her pain

Hang in there! Something should happen soon. If not, vet on Monday, unless she's in distress. If you think you're in love now, wait for the kittens. You will be smitten! Silly rhyme but so true ! :)

Thank you [emoji]9786[/emoji]️... She's not panting a lot but defiantly can't stay still. Keeps getting up and pacing. She keeps crying at the door to the room wanting out, which I can't do, then coming up to me and crying; it's breakjng my heart.

Oh I know I'll fall in love with the kittens too hahaha! I keep telling myseld I won't but ... Hehehe

Can you let her out just to look around and then put her back? I don't remember your situation.

Not really. I have 4 cats and a dog. My fiancé is sleeping, and if I locked all of them up with him the dog will start barking, cat will attack dog, dog attack cat. The room she is in is big, and has no furniture (I've been sleeping on the floor with her) other thank what I've brought in for her

Oh, she is beautiful! Looks very similar to the cat I took in about 3 months ago. Good you are staying with her. Let us know how it goes today. Hopefully, for both of your sakes, labor will move along today. I'm assuming she is panting as she experiences contractions. Is she dilating or having any discharge?

Still no kittens and she's still acting normal and then panting. No way I could have taken er to work with me today so my vet and I have a plan. After work I'll pick her up. Take her to my vet, take X-rays and send them to her. She will then look at them, if nothing obvious showing will call a specialist to see what next steps are. If csection is needed I'll be taking her to emerg tonight to do that*sigh* nothing is every easy with my little onea

Best of luck. The panting with nothing productive occurring is worrisome. Glad you are having it seen to. So sorry it's problematic. Please let us know something when you can!

Nothing abnormal with rads...shows 4-5 kittens I think [emoji]9786[/emoji]️... She seems ok. Vet said that maybe lady has the timing wrong which is the only thing I can think of now. They look good size but she's full of poop so hard to tell.

Vets not to worried about the panting, just to keep an eye on her closely

Hopefully we can see them soon, tiny little babies!

Was the vet able to estimate how much longer the kittens need to develop? Mine was able to estimate 7 to 10 days on our x-ray, but it took 12 until the delivery date. But he could see they weren't quite ready.

Does the cat need some mineral oil to help her poop? A few drops mixed into her wet food? And is it hot where you are? Is that why she's panting, or is it just her way of relieving her stress? To pace and pant? Poor mommy.

You've covered your bases for now. Guess all that's left is to wait. Hang in there!
