It has been five hours and the last two kittens have not been born yet.  They are at the vet and the vet believes giving Wanda a quiet place is best.  Wanda got belly rubs throughout her labor and craved our attention.  I think she may not feel comfortable enough at the vet to give birth.  Still, she is in the best place as I am certain any other breach babies will also get, "stuck," and the vet can fix that where I cannot.  I am still so worried but happy to report the first two kittens are nursing, warm, and happy.  I can't imagine what this vet bill will be.  My daughter will have to do a fundraiser :) I will post pictures when they are all home.
I'm glad that the first 2 are doing well. A gofundme page or something similar would be a good option as well. Plenty of people would want to help a mama kitty and her babies.

:( C-section...

Thanks, my Mom is an amazing quilter, I will ask her to make a quilt to donate and raffle, and we will likely do the GoFund Me as well.

Wanda is having a C-section right now.  The vet can't hear the kittens heartbeats.  She will be spayed too.  This explains why the feral cat colony caretaker didn't see this cat with kittens ever since she was hit by a car, she probably did get pregnant over and over again but all her kittens died in the birthing process.  I cannot express my extreme sadness over this situation.  I am so glad I brought her in.

It is good the vet is taking action. Even if the other kittens are not alive, mama's life will be saved and you have the other 2. Perhaps the two inside will miraculously be okay. Yes, a very good thing you brought her in. And now she is being spayed, so her pregnancy woes will end, and she can enjoy her last kittens. She apparently tried very hard to deliver the 2 she had for you. The raffle is a great idea! I hope it will go well. When do you get to bring Wanda home? Is the vet feeding the newborns a little until mama rallies? You have truly been a blessing in this cat's life! Please give us an update as soon as you can. Poor Wanda has been through so much!

The last  two babies did not make it.  Wanda has to spend the night at the vet to recover from the surgery.  The kittens are with her even though she is still a bit sedated.,  She has a private room at the vet and it looked pretty nice.  When I saw them, the kittens were sleeping and they looked fat and happy.  I will get the care instructions when I pick them up tomorrow.  I hope mamas milk supply is good and I think it must be okay because of how content the babies looked, I wonder if they got the medication she got through the milk?  While this outcome was not ideal it is still quite amazing. I still have my mama cat and she got spayed and gets to raise two  kittens and she will spend the rest of her life in a happy home INSIDE.

Poor Wanda, really did have a rough day.  It was so hard on her trying to birth those two kittens.  Now she has to recover from the surgery with two kittens climbing all over her.  We will do everything we can to help her.

Bless you! I love your attitude! I am so sorry those last 2 babies did not make it. I really think Wanda wouldn't have the 2 she has if it weren't for you. They may have a little meds in them from nursing, but hopefully everyone will be happy to relax at home tomorrow. Please update us tomorrow on Wanda and the babies! You have been amazing! Have a peaceful night!

There is only one kitten left :( The black one just died at the vet.  Wanda is refusing to eat and had a slight fever so they won't let her go home.  I am going to go in I see if I can encourage her to eat.  In my seven years of fostering animals this is the first one to die while in my care.  I know the chances of the white one surviving are slim as well, but I am going to try to stay hopeful.   Somehow, I want this kitten to survive more for Wanda than for me.  I am pretty sure she lost every litter during her three years of living outside.  This poor kitty (who is an absolute doll) had a rough life outside and so far I haven't improved he quality of life if you look at it from her perspective.  I just want her home...

That's so sad. I'm so sorry.
Poor Wanda. I hope she and the last kitten can pull through and be OK.

That's not true. You have improved her quality of life. She may have lost these kittens but she's getting proper medical care and she's been spayed so this will never happen to her again. You cared enough about her and her babies to get her the best help possible.

Hugs to you for caring about this little family and vibes/love to Wanda and her sweet baby having a full recovery.

RIP to the little ones who didn't make it.

Oh, I know I helped her but in her kitty mind I am sure she doesn't think so.  She had a pretty traumatic birth experience and then a major surgery and she is locked up in a cage at the vet, and she feels really bad.  We are going to go down now and try to cheer her up.

They are very intelligent, intuitive animals. I think she knows. She knows you're her only friends. Please give her a hug for me when you are able to.

She has been through so much. You have done everything possible for her. She would have died in childbirth otherwise. Is the vet feeding the baby that's left?

I second everything the above poster said, and hope that Wanda feels better soon & is happy to see you and feels cheered up. I really pray the second baby makes it too. Hang in there - we are with you in spirit!

I am absolutely delighted to report that Wanda and her kitten are home!  The baby is very active, she seems to spend the majority of her time nursing or looking for a nipple.  I will post a picture of this adorable baby and mama as soon as I manage to get ahold of one of my kids' iPhones.  Wanda is eating and drinking and seems to be recovering nicely.

That's great news!! I hope they continue to thrive. Are you keeping either or both of them or are you fostering? Either way they are so lucky that they have you.

We would love to see some pictures!!

I do not plan to keep either the mom or the baby, the cat rescue we foster through will find them great homes.  I would love to keep Wanda but she really hates my dog.  I managed to get a picture..

The baby wasn't white after all, she is colorpoint! She is eight days old and she gets new color on her everyday, it is so fun to watch. She is growing like a weed.

So cute!!!  If it was me fostering that cat I think I'd have a tough time watching the kitten go to a different home.  I'd probably figure out a way to keep both Mama and adorable kitten.  You did a great job under very difficult circumstances.
