Hi,

I have recently found some small round bald patches on my long haired cat, on her neck and belly. On the skin where the patch is are small black dots. She suffers quite regularly with fleas so we always use spot on and regularly groom her for flea poo so I know it's definitely not that. I did also try and wipe it away with a wet piece of tissue to double check but it didn't turn red.

Does anyone know what it could be?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the site and I am very sorry for the long delay in any responses to your question. I hope you return to us! :cross:

This looks like a type of chin acne or stud tail condition where the pores become clogged with dirt. But, it is not usually seen on the neck or the belly first. Under the chin, around the mouth and lower upper back, top of tail are more common to see these types of clogged and dirty pores. It is usually a diet related issue or allergy.

Since she has a flea issue then it very well could be flea dirt although when I enlarged your picture, it appears to me to be clogged pores. Giving her a regular bath may help and cleaning the areas with Vetericyn will help to clear up those areas. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

OH - and what spot-on flea treatment are you using? With a flea infestation in the home, one must treat the environment as well as the cat to get a good handle on killing off all eggs/larvae around the house.
