From being a kitten, Rosie has always made a chattering noise. It's as if she's having a conversation with me in her own language, and i even talk back to her!.

She's still at the mischevous age (21Mth), and if i say a firm NO to her when she goes to bite off the flower heads in the vase or anything else she shouldnt be doing, she'll turn and give me a chattering noise back as if to say 'Leave me alone'!!, then walks away in a huff!!.

Has anyone else experienced this?. Shes spoilt, i know that much!!

Susan.

It sounds cute to have her bite the flower heads off in anger.

It's a reflex that kitties have. I know that they do it when they get excited over something. In the case of my case, while they watch the birds or lizards from the window. I've never known cats to do it as communication....though then again they are communicating their excitement.

I don't really know either. But I hope someone can give a clearer answer. I just know that all the cats that I've come across do it.
