Today my sister and I had to have my moms doggie Buddy PTS. He was about 14 years old not sure cause he was a shelter rescue. He's been going downhill for awhile. Dementia and incontinence, deaf and partial blindness. For the past 2 nights he would fall and couldn't get up. My 81 yro mom had me and sis take him to the bridge. We are all devastated. He had a good life. And I do believe in ending suffering but I still feel like I played God. His big brown eyes staring at me as he went through it was a relief and a curse. God bless Buddy. Run free at the rainbow bridge. No more pain or suffering. I love you Buddy.

Oh I'm so sorry.  It's so hard to do things like that, even when you know it's the right thing to do.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's tough even when you know the decision to euthanize is the right one. RIP, Buddy. :rbheart:

He sounds like a sweetheart and that you loved him very much. Our thoughts are with you during this sad time. I hope you can try to remember the good times more than the end.

My heart goes out to you, it is so very hard to say goodbye to someone who has been with you for so long. He lived a long, happy life with those he loved, and he depended on you to know when this earth was getting to be too much. It was the last act of love to end his pain, and all the pain to come. You will be blessed for helping your mom get through this, and for the love and concern you felt for Buddy. I'm so very sorry your family has to go through this, I wouldn't wish it onto anyone. Please be gentle on yourself, take care........RIP sweet Buddy!
