I wasn't sure if this should go in health or nutrition, so I flipped a coin and nutrition won! ;-)
I have a two year old male cat, Simba, who is prone to bladder crystals and blockages. His coat is just.... dull, and thin, and coarse. They're on a mix of 50% canned food (Fancy Feast and Nutro mostly with some Blue mixed in), and 50% dry food. They were on Simply Nourish Source dry food, but I changed to Solid Gold Indigo Moon when the Source was making his coat what it is now.
This is going somewhere, I promise.
So, after a month on the new food, no change in his coat. So, I was thinking I would add in some fish oil supplements. But, I remember reading somewhere years ago that too much fish in the diet could possible cause urinary issues in male cats. Seeing as how Simba is already prone, and they eat a variety of fish in canned food (as well as chicken, turkey), should I add in the fish oil?
Not sure if it matters, but I have three other cats, and all their coats are excellent.
