Agh chewing gum

Agh my cat maple has chewing gum in her fur I don't even eat the stuff but how do I safely get it out? im happy to chop but I still need to clean some so it's not so close to her skin when I cut it out help?

Never had to do it, and no experience, but you got me thinking!  Then I did a google - they say oil will loosen it.  In people, they even use peanut butter (its oily): .  But I wouldn't use a nut oil on cats, given some nuts are toxic to cats.  You could try soft butter - and your cat will probably delightedly clean herself afterwards too!  Othewise, I think olive oil is fairly benign for cats.

1) Aagh! is right, poor baby.
2) Peanuts are legumes, not nuts. I don't know about feline allergies to them, though.
3) Butter definitely sounds like a fine idea.
4) I've read a report that olive production in Italy is down this year. If it's recently bought, and says it's from Italy, assume that your olive oil is mixed with something else, safflower oil or canola oil, for instance.

Ended up chopping it out she has bit of a bald spot but atleast fur grows back and she wasn't upset or bothered

Awww, silly kitty getting into chewing gum.  I'm glad she wasn't bothered by you cutting it out.
