I collect snow globes.  It started when I was a little girl and my Dad would buy me small non-musical snow globes. I loved to shake them and see the snow falling inside. It was magical.  I had dozens and dozens.  After my parents died, I don't know what my brother did with all of the stuff, and as a result the globes were lost or given away.

I started collecting snow globes again about 15 years ago, but there are so many different kinds that I decided to just stick with the regular sized musical ones.

Today I added 2 more globes to my collection.   It's late, but I'll post actual photos of them tomorrow when it's day time and I'm more awake, but for now, here are some pics I found in Google.

The inside is a snowflake :)    For some reason when I saw this globe my first thoughts went to my Mom!  She died in 1978.   I had it engraved to say "Forever."

The cardinal is sitting on a silver branch that turns.  I had this one engraved "New Years 2015"

Your snow globes are very beautiful.  I like them too, although I don't collect them.  Be careful with snow globes and cats.  Some of them, particularly the older ones, have something like antifreeze in them so they cannot freeze, and if they break, and your cat licks it, it can poison him or her.  Here is a link to an earlier post about snow globes:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/289168/snowglobes-dangerous-to-cats#post_3660424

Those are beautiful!  They are really nice to just sit and look at.  I know I have a couple packed away.  Both are Christmas themed but we never had room for them in our old house.  I need to find them since we have a china cabinet where they can go now.

I like the Cardinal one in particular because Cardinals always make me think of my Grandfather!  He was the one who taught me to watch the birds in his backyard (something we still do together when I visit him) and the Cardinal was probably the first bird I recognized.  They had several cardinal decorations in their house too.  I have been collecting ornaments for our Christmas tree to represent each member of our family.  A glass cardinal is the one I chose for my Grandfather.
