new cat! navi

hey guys i just got a new cat named navi from skitty and misfits litter but he has never been socialised before with people or cats except when he was newborn and he hunks down to the ground. any tips?:hi:

My recommendation is to put him in a small room and go and visit him frequently.  Don't force yourself on him.  It may overwhelm him.  Let him come to you.  Let him "pet" you first (rub against you or put his paw on you, physical contact).  Talk in a sweet, high pitched voice to him.  It also helps to sit on the floor at his level.  Offer him treats or toys. 

In a few days, when he seems more comfortable with you, start introducing him to the rest of the house.  Keep it short and sweet.  Don't overwhelm him.  Let him explore at his pace.  Encourage him to follow you by calling him.  Don't be too heartbroken if he doesn't.  Cats don't like change and for cats that haven't been socialized, it can be slow and seem like you take 2 steps forward and 1 step back a lot of the time.  Let him set the pace and don't give up.  He'll be a happy and social guy in no time... It'll just feel like it took forever.
