@catwoman707

i gave him some baby food  about 1.5 syringe ; i couldn't find the one u told me about so i gave him this
but before i gave him a rehydration solution cuz i couldn't find pediolyte either !!!
the problem is that he doesn't want to swallow anything when i give him something he keeps it in his mouth and then "accidently" swallow about 50% or less !!! is there anything wrong with his mouth or something or his pharynx ??! cuz before the vet visit he used to eat meat without chewing it so he pukes it later !!

and his (****) after the injection became more like the egg white ! never seen something like that before !

i'm willing to give him this for the diarrhea it's for young babies who have diarrhea from bacteria it's like anti-bacterian

but i guess i'm gonna wait a little to c if he's still has diarrhea or not !

for now he there's no sign of diarrhea or vomiting ! it's been an hour since he ate !

pleeeeeeeease give me advice about the hydration solution doses and the amount of food i should give him !!

and gd news he drinks water  now by himself !

thank so much for helping ! need ur prayers now !!

My 7 week old kitten is doing the same thing I took her to the vet today and they gave us medicine.. The medicine made her throw up and she's been sleeping since they gave us purbac to treat coccidia but everyone else has something else.. I've never heard of purbac and it doesn't say anything about coccidia in the leaflet that came with it!! I'm so worried we taking her to the vet tonight any suggestions?

@Abby Gattina  I am having a hard time reading these, the first one I can see clearly but don't understand the language, the others I can't read either, too small or also not in english.

Whatever it is, he definitely needs to see a vet tomorrow, and until then just keep getting liquids into him, as much as possible.

Do you know how to test for dehydration?

On his neck where he would be scruffed (scruffing is how a momma would carry their baby) with your thumb and finger pinch his skin and pull up, watch to see how the skin returns flat again, if it's immediate, he is hydrated, if it is slow but gets there fairly quick he is semi-dehydrated. If it stands up pinched for 2 seconds or more and then very slowly goes down, he IS dehydrated.

This is the most important factor in keeping him going until he sees a vet.

Yes! The syringe is perfect!

He might be getting better from forcing the fluids into him.

Sometimes a cat, especially a kitten aged cat under 8-10 months old who have weaker immune systems, will get a virus, and even though the virus is minor and will pass through his system in a matter of days, often times the cat becomes very dehydrated and gets much sicker than he would have if he was kept hydrated during the virus.

So let's hope the syringing him is helping him recover and he improves more and more!!

In the very near future I highly suggest getting him neutered as well, and a vaccination.

If he is not neutered, sometime around 7 months old, which is very soon, he will become sexually mature, and he will start wandering far from home, and it is not safe. Male cats who are not fixed will have vicious fights, the bite wounds get infected/abcessed, and can do a great deal of injury.

Last year this time I had to have a male kitten of 10 months old put to sleep because he was beaten up so badly he was completely blinded from a bigger male cat. His face and eyes were torn up so horribly.

I NEVER want to see that again. I know you love your little boy, and prevention is the BEST medicine :)

that's why i wanted a home remedy ! but when he gets completly healed i will take him to the vet to give him vaccination

after u read the symptoms can u say that he's healing ?? i mean is there hope?? cuz i'm literly losing my mind !!

If you see improvements from yesterday then I think there's a good chance he is getting better.

He is drinking water on his own now? Is he walking around at all now?

Abby thanks for keeping us posted, we all know how scary this is. I agree that  I'd be very careful about giving him anything for humans without checking with the vet first.  CatWoman is very wise so you have some great advisors here.  Hopefully you are still getting water into him.  Did you ever find the PLAIN baby food, it was the only thing my kitten could eat when he was in the hospital.  Take care and hope he is doing better.

It would be better if you started your own thread. You have different issues.

Abby, DO NOT give him human medicine unless you were advised to. Many human medicines are poisonous to cats or if not then the dosing is entirely different.

Keep giving him food and water.

I wish TCS would force members to list their country. Then I would have known gerbers baby food is not an option for you. Sorry about that.

@KittyMomma1122   that's so sweet of u

@Reba  i gave him baby medicine (rehydration solution that's all) and it's kind of the equivalant of the medicine catwoman told me about (i couldn't find it)

i wouldn't give it to him if she didn't advise me; and all i made him it is baby food ! then he ate by himself some chicken liver and that's a gd sign

i rubed his gum with honey like i was told and i think that's wht made him eat on his own

@catwoman707at  6 a.m  he woke up like he usually do he asked for food i gave him the chicken liver and he ate on his own

he ate a little at midnight ! he woke up and asked for food so i gave him a little then i gave him some of the rehydration solution cuz i haven't seen him drinking water and i wouldn't take the risk

no sign of diarrhea (he didn't even poop at all ;only peing) he slept well last night ! he seems better

but like i said before too early to say he's fine

anyway thank so much @catwoman707  i owe u !! u're my savior

@zoneoutwhen i took him to the vet he asked me to give him human medicines (for adults) and that's more dangerous cuz my baby is only 5 months old !

catwoman advised me to give him "baby" medicines so i did and that kept him from being dehydrated!

Well ; i hope he gets back to normal soon !
thank u all guys for helping me !

@Abby Gattina  this is the best news!!! I am so happy! You did such a great job helping him, it shows how much you love your boy :)

You don't owe me anything, the fact that I was able to help is what I wanted, it's good for my heart, so very happy to hear he is doing so much better!

Woohoo!!

The `baby medicines` is OK - that is a solution of water with minerals for dehydration - kitty needs that.   I just wanted you to be careful with other stuff.   Some people make a mistake that if medicine is good for them then it is also good for the cat - but that is not always true.

BUT I am REALLY happy to hear he is doing better.

However....  keep up the good work.   Don`t stop until he looks really strong better than normal.   Otherwise he could get weak again.

wht i found on google was depressing !!!
all i know the vet gave him a dose of vitamin C !! in the first day he said i won't give it to him cuz he didn't eat and this might hurt him but in the second he just gave it to him anyway !!

i don't know if this can cause the blood or not ! but i hope it's not serious !!!!! cuz from wht i found on google most of the cases where  there's blood in the urine they need surgeries !! and i can't count on that here !!
