Is anyone a Black Friday shopper here?

I host Thanksgiving dinner so I'm not one of the people that wait in line overnight. After all of our guests leave my husband and I have a tradition of driving by a few of the local stores to see how long the lines are. :lol3: I had my hair done a few weeks back and my hairdresser is one that is always in line. I am supposed to bring her a coffee this year when we do our driveby. :lol3:

I have gone out some years after the initial morning rush and have gotten a few pretty good deals, once on a folding table and another time on a fire pit. I have also gotten some great online deals as well.

Is anyone planning on shopping on Black Friday? What are you looking for? What good deal do you know about, particularly cat-related deals?

oh Canada~
I was going to wait until Black Friday to buy a new cell phone (Moto G), but it went on sale last weekend and my brother said it's not worth waiting since I need a new phone now.. so he grabbed it for me. Now I have nothing to look forward to for Black Friday deals, lol... but I'm in Canada anyway so we just get the knock-off deals that aren't as good (nor as hectic) as Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but they're sales nonetheless. The only shopping I tend to do for Black Friday is online.

Days like Black Friday and Boxing Day, I find our family has always been more electronics-oriented. Boxing week can be for clothes and purses and stuff, but really what we've always gone for were the electronics.

I only go if there is a good deal on something I really want.  Well; I've gone once!  It wasn't that fun and I took a wrong turn driving home in my sleep deprived state.

I've already done the bulk of the shopping for my kids.  And I've done most of it online.  I have found good deals on Cyber Monday.  I may save that for shopping for DH and my parents.  My SIL and I coordinate to shop for each other's kids.  Last year on Cyber Monday I found a beautiful sterling silver necklace for my niece on Amazon.  She is at that age where she's too old for toys and starting to enjoy "finer" things like that.  I don't remember the original price; but I only paid $20 and it had her birthstone in it.

I am still watching the daily deals on Amazon.  You never know what you will find!

I am interested in the deals they might have for pet things this year.  I'd like another cat tree.  The one we have is fine; but it only has 1 tall perch and that is where my girls like to go to get away from the kids.  I'm just not sure where in the house a second cat tree can go!  If I DO get one; it needs to be a good deal!

I'm not much of a shopper and don't go anywhere near Black Friday or Cyber Monday (they have recently invaded Canada). I don't like malls. I don't like crowded malls. Going by news reports over the years, it looks like a country-wide greed-fest that overshadows a day of family, and harvest dinners, and football. Now if the local pet food stores had a Black Friday ...

We go, or we used to. Now since most stores are opening on Thursday, we probably won't bother. But I don't know...all depends on what's out there.

I'm hoping for the cat food to go on sale again this year at PetSmart.

The cats really don't need anything.

The only thing we have been looking for is a laptop.  The youngest dd is currently using a 2007 laptop to do her schoolwork on.  It has Windows XP as the operating system on it- which is no longer supported.  The only thing it's good for is paper writing, and even then it's very slow (I watched her try to load something).

She graduates this year and will need a laptop for college anyways. We gave the other dtr a laptop at graduation.  I was hoping we could hold off on that purchase until graduation (my oldest got so many very generous gifts at graduation that she was able to contribute a bit to the laptop), but I don't know.  Dh and I got a new one for us in April- so she's been able to do her college applications on something.

So we're scoping the ads to see what kinds of deals there are on laptops.  She wants a Mac- isn't going to happen
I'm so mean.  Her sister has a very basic 12 inch laptop and I think that's what we're looking at.

I want the new Droid Turbo. Honestly, it has my name written over it. I don't see that happening. But I'd love to have it.

I am going for Friskies at .39 a can:)  I only do Petsmart as I can not stand the thought of going to other stores.

Just checked Canada Petsmart - Friskies is .50 a can, down from .79 a can. I can frequently get Friskies for .50 at grocery sales.

Our Giant is at 49 cents a can right now. I doubt we'll be braving the elements at PetSmart for that price.

Thanks! I'll think about going to Petsmart on black Friday but it seems pretty close to the regular price...

We went last year because they had a 65" LED tv on for $700.00 as opposed to $1300.00 and we were still using one of those old bubble tvs in our living room. Not many deals this year that have caught my eye. I didnt know petsmart did black friday maybe I will have Glen take me there lol.

I went once. It was awful and frankly it ruined my holiday feeling.I try to stay away from the malls , especially during holidays. I like quaint boutiques and small shops and book stores.Other than those places I shop on-line.
