Our cat nearly died, and everything is pointing to the use of the miticide we used to control ear mites.  This miticide contains Pyrethrins, which we've found is extremely toxic to cats, even at low concentrations.  Has anyone else experienced this??

I have seen other threads on this forum about complications associated with ear mite medicine and pyrethrins (here is one). Some flea control drops contain it, too. I definitely would not use it. But I've also never had a cat with ear mites, so I do not know what available treatments there are.

How is your kitty now?

Thanks.  My wife and I are appalled that the Ear-Rite Miticide by Lambert Kay displays a kitten on its packaging.  However, instructions on back say not to use the medicine on cats under 12 weeks old.  ***!  Thanks for the reply.  Our cat is making a miraculous discovery.  She's got 8 more lives to go.  wheew.
