My rescue friend, new at this, has cat with ringworm

Hi All,

My friend is TNR Certified and she took the rescued cat to the board certified dermatologist and indeed it is ringworm.  She has 4 other cats there, too.

Can you all please suggest the best, most supportive site or articles to help her along in this journey?

In addition, I would like to add that recently the strain we had in the shelters here in Georgia was fairly resistant to our old standby lime sulfur dips, but we found that a shampoo combining chlorhexadine and ketoconazole  has been extremely effective.  (there are several versions, all good.  ChlorConazole from Revival Animal Health, and KetoChlor from Pet 360 both have had very good results. 

Avoid internal medications if you possibly can.  They can all harm your cat and should not be used unless all other methods have failed.  Follow the cleaning instructions in the thread above, too.  Removing stress is also good policy.  If you can, have the infected cats in their own quiet room or rooms, and you could even include some Feliway diffusers, or at leat one friend of mine has had lots of luck with natural lavender scent.  Keep yourself calm as well and you will be less likely to get it yourself.  I've had a single rescue with ringworm on two separate occasions, and i both cases, none of the other cats or me got any ringworm.
