Good Morning.

Today's question is What is something you are proud of?

I'm proud of our new deck. The old one was a bit rotten in places so Mr Husband and I spent the whole day yesterday sawing timber to the right length, screwing it into place and then painting the new deck with an outdoor wood preserver.

I've got a few splinters and blisters today, but I'm proud of them too.

I am proud of my Masters degree. It was a very competitive program. I went full time, did all the classes, got all As, and kinda dropped out during the thesis as I found the process annoying.

I did nothing on the degree for a couple years but sit on my butt and pay large sums of money to stay enrolled. Then I woke up out of a fog and went back and worked like a dog finishing exactly on the deadline (under 7 years). Most of the class took  2.5-4 years. It was not all my fault as my adviser contributed to the long drag out.

179 people applied, 15 got in only 8 finished and I was the last.  lol Yeah that was cool.

I am proud of my Royals! This is the first year that they have been in the playoffs IN MY LIFETIME. The last time they went was 1985 when they happened to beat the St. Louis Cardinals to win the World Series.

St. Louis is still in & so the chances of history repeating itself in 2014 is really good. There has always been a bit of a rivalry in MO between KC & STL, so an I70 showdown would be absolutely amazing!

So far they have played 5 playoff games and won them all (with 4 of the five going into extra innings). I sure hope we keep it up!!

So proud of the young man  DS (our only child) has become. Four years ago he won a football  scholarship (American football), and an academic scholarship to a large university located only an hour from  home. He recently graduated and was hired by the premier aerospace company in the nation. Thankfully, he takes after DW, and not me-- believe me!  We feel so fortunate that we"re paying it forward, and donating to the university's  general scholarship fund.

We are having a bit of trouble adjusting to the empty nest, and also that there are no more of DS FB games to watch for the first autumn in 15 years. He'd been playing since he was 8.  But we still have good ole Harley-- up there in the corner. We're proud of him too!

I'm proud of my current animation project. It's only 3.5 seconds long, the action itself is mundane, the character and rig are open source and haven't been customized (so it's very generic and seen everywhere), and it's only got 9 key frames so far with no smoothing or in-betweens... but the teacher who is an industry art director, a blunt and critical man, said I did a good job. It's really not much AT ALL but I've been riding that high since last night since it's what I want to do when I graduate.

I'm proud of finishing nursing school and getting a job right out of the gate.  I'm also proud of finding such a nicer home than I was living in before and being able to afford it.

i'm proud that i'm having my roof completed this year. the last level of roof will be torn off and a new metal roof put on, as well as new seamless gutters, in about a week -- they're supposed to start this coming wednesday, weather permitting, and should finished by end of day friday. they'll also be pulling out a window in the upstairs hallway, putting in a new wall frame and sill, then reinstalling the same window -- it's a relatively new vinyl window. and they'll be doing the shed roof too. plus they'll be constructing a screen door that will replace a solid door that goes to my upstairs, which will be helpful during the integration we're just starting. the part that i'm most proud of is that i met my goal and made sure i saved up the over $7000. cash for these home improvements. and i'm proud that i was able to have the entire roof done (and saved up the cash for it all) in the two years that i had planned for it.

I am proud that I started my own cleaning business, & in just one year, my schedule was pretty much full! (7 biweekly clients, & 2 once a month).

All through referrals of my clients!  (One neighbor referred me to another, one teacher to another, etc..)

In fact, when I started, I ordered two boxes of cards, & a year later, I have only gone through 1/2 a box!

BUT,   I am most recently proud of a home project I did (two weekends ago now) w/ the help of my parents. (& I live in a rental!)

Here is a link to my thread about it, & pictures if anyone hasn't seen it, & wants to check it out!

For me, it's achieving a level in my career that I'm sure nobody ever thought was possible, let alone me, having not finished college.

Took until my 50's to get there but I finally feel appreciated, recognized and confident with what I do for a living.  More so, as it involves more math than I ever thought I was capable of doing.

I wish my dad were still around to hear about it.  He thought I'd be stuck as a check out girl in a supermarket when I was 18.  I think he would have been over the moon for me.

I'm proud of the fact that DH and I have taken in so many stray and abused cats.  We now have 10 (we always keep 1-2 openings for urgent, matter-of-life-or-death cases).  Every cat we've had started out as an unwanted kitty--some were literally at death's door--and we gave them a wonderful, happy, clean, comfortable and loving home. Little Sarah Jane's first anniversary is coming up on the 27th. She was one of the "at death's door" cats--now look at her! Happy, healthy and such fun to have!  How we LOVE that little girl. She'll always be special to me, as she was the first kitten that I hand-raised and brought back from the brink of death. That creates a special bond.

Some people have told me that I'm crazy for having these cats. The make unfair assumptions about the cleanliness of our house, without even seeing it (it is very clean, BTW).  I don't care. I know that what I'm doing is the right thing, and that's all that matters.

And, when they invent the first robotic litter box cleaner, I'll be first in line.

I'm proud of Montgomery! He was rescued at about five days old. He was the only survivor in his litter and was living under an old rowboat on a defunct dairy farm. We hand-raised him. He was supposed to go up for adoption, but his digestive issues just wouldn't quit, no matter what we did. It took eight months of wormings, supplements, and different foods before he had any bowel control. It was eight months of being told to euthanize him, even though he was bright-eyed, playful, active, out-going and loving. He's two and a half years old now, a healthy six and a half pounds (sleek and muscular), and neutered back in March. He's on special food from his wonderfully patient veterinarian and homeopathic drops for his gas. He's happy-go-lucky, has a warped sense of humour, loves nose kisses, and I wouldn't part with him for anything. I'm very proud of our little Peepbean!

My 9 y/0 daughter Anna.
She is the love of my life. Anna is my one and only and I had her when I was 42 almost 43 y/o.
Not easy being a single parent but I think I am doing a pretty darn good job.

I've been sooo busy lately, so this is my first question in awhile.

I'm proud of practically everything good in my family in life. And even the little things, like getting an A+ on a test I didn't study for, or maybe barely finishing running a mile. :)

After a not really wonderful start with me as a mother I'm so proud of my children and the fine parents they have become.I suffer from clinical depression so their childhood was a bit difficult to say the least. In my.defence they ate cooked meals by me, maybe a bit salty from tears. Clean clothes. Clean children. I made sure they were properly looked after and they made sure there was always enough tissues to dry mum up with.

That's so sweet.

I bet your children really appreciate you doing all that for them, even when you were feeling down
