One year ago........

I left work at 1:00 PM on October 10,, 2013.

There was a carelessley thrown water bottle in the floor, and I thought if I could grab it- I could prevent it from going under my pedals and causing a wreck. I went after it at 1:21 PM. At 1:22 PM, this happened:


Which caused, 2 broken legs. Then 3 surgeries later, this happened:


And here is a timeline of events........


I now function with a cane and pain meds.... I live in a lot of pain but it could have been a lot worse, basically I am thankful to be alive.

Oh and eventually happiness came back into my life, in the form of a little  blue furball. She answers to the name of "Xena" and turns 6 months old today!

I don't like all the photos until the last one. Xena on your shoulder, a pretty pink flower on your dress and a smile on your face. You have been through a lot and has tested your faith I'm sure. Much hugs to you and Xena for happiness and joy.

My goodness... I am so sorry for what happened to you last year but we are so glad you are still with us! I am happy that you have little Xena to keep you company. 

Wow! I remember that having happened. I can't believe it's been a year already.

So glad that you weren't hurt anymore than you were and that you were able to recover.  I'm sorry that you are still having pain.

Thanks! I could not believe it has been a year either it seems like a lot shorter it sometimes it seems like the rest just happened. I still have some PTSD etc. I actually froze on an escalator the other day convinced I would fall and trip and break my leg again I still fight those awful demons in my mind at times, but I am to the point now where I can work through it and I know I'm safe and well and it's okay. :-) I still have nightmares every so often I will wake up in a cold sweat and think I am still trapped in the car and I think some of that is normal for a while, it will take a while before I am fully recovered in every aspect.

Wow congratulations on your recovery. I am so sorry it is not complete with the lingering pain and all. I am happy you have a new friend in Xena though. She sure is adorable. Keep working towards getting better. Nothing happens without hard work!
