We will be having a consult with our vet to discuss further treatment for Ali.
She has been on prednisone for three months now fighting pemphigus-feline auto immune disease.
She is on a high dose of 25 mgs and will be on it a week on the 17th of this month and that day we will wean her down to 20 mgs.
Every time the vet has tried to wean her off she has cut the dosage in half and Ali has gotten sick right away again, so tomorrow we discuss the treatment plan for weaning her off this time.
We want to wean her off 5 mgs at a time but do no know if it needs to be down over a week at a time or two weeks.
I have never heard of a cat being on a low dose of steroids for life before so I am not even sure if that is a possibility.
We know wheat to look for so we are also telling our vet we do not need to bring Ali in every time we lower the amt of prednisone.
This has aged Ali and taken the glow out of her eyes.
This makes me very sad.
